AUTHOR’S NIGHT AT ZORVINO VINEYARD, SANDOWN, NH, USA
It was a lovely night despite the frigid weather at the beautiful Zorvino Vineyard! This was the first time we had been to this venue. We heard about it through Chris Obert of Pear Tree Publishing whom we met at another venue we attended last year. He was gracious enough to give us all the information about this venue and two others coming up in April and July of 2018.
We didn’t know what to expect when we arrived at 3:00 pm to set up. Well, we arrived so early that we had the pick of all the tables which were 4 feet and 8 feet long. We chose an 8 foot long table but were told we may have to share it with another author. As it turned out no one came to use the rest of the table. Eventually Chris told us to spread out our 17 books.
Since we were one of the first to arrive we sat back after setting up and watched the rest of the authors come in and lay out their books. While John minded our table and possessions I moseyed over to meet and greet the other authors. I had so much fun introducing myself and looking at their work. It was fascinating to be in a room with 25-30 other authors and share stories, ideas, and all the craziness that does with being an author. It was a pleasure to meet and make so many new author friends. I asked, many that I had a chance to meet, to guest on my blog. Watch for some exciting new authors and their books here soon!
The flow of people coming and going was excellent. There was food and wine offered. We did not partake in the wine but did have some food which was tasty – chicken fingers and waffle fries and clam chowder. Of course, I never eat this stuff at home but when in a venue you eat what you can get! It was delicious!
We had plenty of time before the crowd arrived at 6 pm to visit the winery downstairs. I apologize for not taking some photos of that too. But I was so enthralled with all the wine that I forgot. Oh, John did go back downstairs later in the evening and purchased three bottles of wine.
The staff member we met, Nancy, was friendly and informative. We promised to come back for a wine tasting that costs $5.00 for several wines you wish to try. Sounds good to me. They had buckets and water pitchers on the bars all around for tasters to spit out the wine and then drink a little water to rinse out their glass and begin again. So fun!! I doubt if I would spit anything out! Ha!

It is a lovely place even in the winter but it will be even more so in the spring and summer. I look forward to going back in the warmer weather so we can sit outside and enjoy the sun and a glass of wine. Sigh!
A special thank you goes to Chris Obert of Pear Tree Publishing for hosting this author event. It was fabulous! John and I look forward to going again next year.
There was also a special guest star, Mary Ann Esposito, chef extraordinaire who was on hand to sign her cooking books. I had a chance to meet her and she was so sweet. We talked about my trips to Italy. She promised to read my reviews on my blog of my travels to her favorite places.
Thank you to all the visitors to the vineyard who purchased our books!
Thank you for stopping by to read about this exciting author event. I wish many of my fellow author friends online could have been there too! Maybe next year?
