This is my second Newsletter for 2017. This is my 2017 year in review.  

This newsletter is my way of keeping you in the loop of new books and happenings with Jemsbooks.

There have been some new additions and surprises to the Jemsbooks family since the last newsletter in July of 2017.

Broose the Moose on the Loose (children’s book) won a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award in August of 2017.

This was an exciting time for Jemsbooks to add another award to bring the total to eight.

Broose is about a lonely and sad moose who has no friends because he is different.

He is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble and other online stores.

Broose teaches children to accept others and to treat them with respect and kindness.

My husband, John, is responsible for creating such colorful and eye-catching illustrations and covers. I am blessed to have such a talented husband and he works cheaply. LOL!

All Jemsbooks carry life lessons –respect elders, respect each other, be kind and caring, listen to parents, elders, support anti-bullying, love one another, be patient, friends matter.

In November of 2017 Book 5, Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series, The Case of the Sad Mischievous Ghost, won a Silver Medal in Authorsdb Cover Contest. Kudos to John for the beautiful cover! (Award total – 9)

This series has earned six awards alone (3 Pinnacle Book Awards, 2 Reader’s Favorite-HM & Silver Medal, 1 Authorsdb Silver Medal – Cover Contest)

I celebrated five years blogging on WordPress! I celebrated by giving away two copies of my first novel, Hunting Mariah, to one winner in Canada and the other in the UK.

Congratulations to them both!

My husband, John, created a new cover for this novel. Here it is. The model is my lovely niece who was gracious enough to lend her beautiful face to the cover.

The original cover is not available online anymore. But I do have some copies left in my inventory if anyone would like to purchase one for $15.00 plus S&H.

I ran a Goodreads Giveaway from 11/20/17 to 12/20/17 and gave away three autographed copies of Book 4, Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series, The Case of the Brown Scraggly Dog.

Congratulations to the three winners from USA!

My current project is a new children’s book illustrated by John Spina about a Hermit Crab named Clarence Henry. It will have some special photos in the back showing Clarence Henry in action. Watch for a cover reveal coming soon!

John created a bookmark that I have been sharing around and give to anyone who orders books directly from me. Here is the two-sided colorful bookmark with children’s books on one side and middle-grade and 18+ books on the other.

Another project I am working on is a sequel to my first novel, Hunting Mariah. The sequel will pick up where the first one left off.

Watch for this sequel in January 2018 also.
