Christmas is Coming! Are you Ready?

Christmas is coming! Are you ready? We are all shopping, wrapping and preparing for the big day! It will be here soon! Everything is so commercialized that we sometimes forget what the true meaning of Christmas really is.

Let’s take a moment to reflect and put aside all the craziness of this blessed holiday.

Let’s think of all our soldiers, men and women alike, who are serving for our countries and not able to come home for Christmas.

Let’s think of all the homeless who will be shivering and trying to stay warm with no food or family to care for them.

Let’s think of the old and sick and lost souls who have no one to visit them daily in their nursing homes, or wherever they are.

Let’s think of the soup kitchens who, God Bless them, care for the homeless but need our support to restock their kitchens.

Let’s think of the Salvation Army, Red Cross, Lazarus House, Goodwill and all those groups who do for others but need our support to feed, clothe and care for the homeless.

Let’s give thanks to God for all he has given us – a home, a family and love! If you do not have these I will pray for you! We need these to survive!

Please help those who are in need this Christmas and all year through! I wrote out my checks to different groups that I support each year. I pray that my donations will help those in need.

Here are some photos to put you into the holiday spirit wherever you live!

May God bless you and take care of you and yours! Merry Christmas and a very Happy & Healthy New Year!

  1. Good topics to deeply think about! Yes, Janice, you absolutely right, personally I think that Xmas has only become a “pretext” (being Christian or not). Traveling around the world I found trees with decorations in the Maldives with a ridiculous Ho Ho Ho dressed in red coming for the kids with a rowing boat, as well as some red&white huge socks hanging from the Xmas tree in the Bejing hotel’s hall. I could continue with many examples. This period of the year should bring people together, in Peace, but I see war everywhere and unfortunately in your country with a subversive (so-called) leader, is even preoccupating. I mean, for the rest of the planet.
But, yes, let’s us pray for a better world, let us open our hearth to give love without willing something in return… Thank you, Janice, for sharing your thoughts. Have wonderful holidays. :-)claudine

A lovely post, Janice, and a timely reminder. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle-bustle of the holiday and forget why we are celebrating. Blessings to you and your family and wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  4. Marry Christmas Janice and to your family and family of books. 😀
