Our three-week vacation in beautiful Aruba is coming to an end. We are leaving tomorrow to head back to the cold in the East. Brrrr! We have been used to temperatures in the 80’s – 90! We feel blessed to be able to do this each year.
Below a strange cloud appeared on the other side of the island. From the 14th floor (top floor of the tower) we can see the island from the dining/living area and from the balcony we can see the gorgeous sunsets. We also can see all the cruise ships that come and go. Here is one in the photo below. The port has been busy these three weeks. At times there have been four ships at one time in port.
The last two days here have been overcast and rainy. Luckily the sun came out yesterday and we went back into the balmy water. Today I woke up to rain but, fingers crossed, it will stop soon and the sun will come out! This is the rainy season in Aruba and it’s not unusual to have a few days of rain in a week. In our three weeks here we have been fortunate to only have four days spread out over that period. Each time the rain stopped and the glorious sun returned for the rest of the day. There were plenty of sun worshippers praying for it to return!
I won’t take pictures of the rain for I don’t want you to remember that. I will post more sunny pictures and sunsets for you to sigh over.
Last night was another wonderful meal at a local restaurant, Azurro, which is within walking distance of our hotel. We like to walk to dinner each night. It’s good for digestion too and saves on cabs. Haha!
Christmas decorations are everywhere now. Note the tree and gold bulbs and lights over John’s head.
Tonight we are going out with our friends to the restaurant, part of the Divi Phoenix on Palm beach, Pure Ocean. You can sit or not on the beach, watch the sunset and then the stars appear above you. It’s lovely. It will be a special get together and ‘a goodbye until next year celebration.’ We have made some wonderful friends and have had a fantastic time. But like all good things it has to come to an end but will leave us with fabulous memories that we will hold close.
I promise to share some more photos tomorrow and then again more after we arrive home. John has tons of photos on his camera.
Ahhh, back to reality soon but I am feeling relaxed, refreshed and several shades darker now.
Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you all a wonderful season of holidays ahead, Thanksgiving, Chanukah, and Christmas and any other holidays you celebrate.

Wonderful photos, Janice! When vacation is over, I’m always a bit sad, but once we are headed home I can’t wait to get back to my regular routine. Love and hugs, dear friend.
Yes, I feel the same, Michelle. There is no place like home! I will miss Aruba and the lovely people who work on the island and the wonderful friends we have made over the many years we’ve been coming and the warm weather and balmy water but will be happy to be home in my own bed! Love & hugs back to you! 😘
And don’t forget your own shower! Nothing feels better.
