SUMMER IS HERE AND SO ARE THE ROSES AND OTHER FLOWERS!
Petunias, geraniums and marigolds!
I love the summer, not because I could go to the beach or just sit out on my deck or take a walk and enjoy the sunshine, but because with summer comes flowers, all kinds of beautiful flowers! Of course I love all the rest that comes with summer too!
I just had to share photos of all my flowers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
I love my roses! Here you will see how prolific they have become. I accredit their abundance to all the praying I do to St. Therese, my favorite Saint. She is known to shower roses or the scent of roses on those who pray to her. I recently read a book on her life, St. Therese of Lisieux : A Model for Our Times by Wyatt North. I have always loved St. Therese since I was a young girl. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother prayed to St. Therese daily and I continue to pray to her too. Here is my review on Amazon.
If you haven’t read about St. Therese you need to. She is one of the most influential and prolific saints of modern day. She was small in stature but strong in will and was determined to become a Carmelite nun at the early age of 15. At that time one had to be 20 to enter. Therese did the impossible by going with her father to the local priest, then Cardinal and finally to the Pope until she was given approval to enter. She was the youngest of nine but only of her four siblings survived, all girls. All the girls entered the same order.
She was an incredible young woman and talented not only in her determined spirit but also as a painter, poet and playwright. She was unselfish in her devotion to Christ and suffered so she would be worthy to enter Heaven.
She has helped me by her intercessions through Christ to overcome many rough times in my life. I, for one, have received roses or the scent of roses in different ways from her.
Here are some pictures of St. Therese as a child and then as an adult. These photos are from the organization, Society of The Little Flower, which is how she is remembered. She is The Little Flower who followed Christ in her Little Way.
Thank you, St. Therese, for helping me in your Little Way!
Thank you for stopping by!
Blessings & hugs!
