Loved this. The bird that is “under height” reminds me of something that happened to me a long time ago. When I was a teenager I was very self-conscious and nervous. Even though I grew up in PA my peers all laughed at me because I talked so fast it was hard for people to understand me. When my family went to St. Michaels, MD for vacation one year, we rented rooms from an elderly couple whose grandson also came to spend a week. His friends were across the street staying with their grandmother. The four of us were sitting outside talking, and as usual, I was talking very fast. M.B. (the grandson of the couple we were renting from) made a comment that I talked to fast. One of his friends made my day when he said, “She doesn’t talk too fast; you just think too slow.”
