Is Spring Really Here?

Coming from New England, USA, spring is never really spring!  The bluebirds are back and so are the robins.  They are a sure sign of spring, are they not?

The weather is getting a little warmer from the 30’s to the 40’s and 50’s.  But I don’t dare get too comfortable because we are used to having a spring snowstorm.  In the meantime I will enjoy a little more sunshine and longer days.  After the rough winter we have had we really need a little warmth and some sunny days!

Please let me share with you my poem about spring.

Spring

What does spring mean to me?

It is an awakening of nature to be all that it can be.

The ground lays dormant all through the winter weather so cold.

And down under the ground grows the roots of new grass we are told.

At the first sign of warm weather the crocuses will pop through opening their faces to the bright sun and sky so blue.

The trees will soon send out their lifeblood from their roots.

And before our very eyes can detect new buds will then shoot.

Soon the birds and bees have arrived

to explore after a cold winter that they somehow survived.

There is a flutter of activity from every hole in the ground

as the chipmunks and groundhogs and other rodents stick their heads out for a look around.

It makes me feel alive once again

and know that it is time, my friends

for cleaning and carting away

all the things that clutter the house and the yard this fine spring day.

Just as nature prepares ahead for the mild weather days,

we should get ready to give thanks for yet another lovely spring

God has sent our way.

Thank you for stopping by.  Hope you all have a lovely day!

Your support is appreciated!  Come back again real soon for more news of my new children’s book and other tidbits.

Beautiful post of “Spring”! Nice to meet you, as I seen you came by my blog tour today 🙂
I’m sad that I won’t be in my home State Of So. Oregon this spring 😦 My hubby just started Meat-cutters school for Safeway who he works for, in all places Glendale, AZ….and it’s already getting HOT! LOL…I’m enjoying your past posts. *Catherine* 🙂

Thank you, Catherine, for stopping by and your kind compliment. I have a friend in Arizona and she says the same thing. I like the comfortable weather here in New England for our spring and fall. Our summer can be hot and humid but not dry like Arizona.

Best wishes to you and your husband while you are there. Try to think cool!

Stop by any time. I enjoy your blog too!

Hi Catherine, I just read your post about Spring and see you are moving to Glendale, AZ. I lived there for 18 years but am back in Minnesota now. I just want you to know that Glendale has the good areas and not so good areas to live in. The further south you go the rougher the neighborhoods are. Just to bear in mind. I have three adult children living there in Surprise and Peoria or Glendale now. My son and family are at 75th Avenue and Union Hills. Surprise is also mostly a good area to live in. If you want to know anything else please feel free to contact me at 1brendabrown1@gmail.com and you might want a name of two of my kids and families for somebody to know. Sending God’s blessings your way and I hope you have a safe move and travels. Brenda

Me and HEAT don’t get along to well. I think because it is so dry here. Although I can not WAIT to go visit the Grand Canyon in a few weeks!! We Hope to be in So. Oregon by Nov God willing. Thanks for the well wish’s and I’ve added your email to mine!! Lets Stay in touch!
Hugs & Blessings back to You!

Yes, a long wait for Spring this year and in Minnesota we are looking for highs only in the forties all of next week. Hopefully those beautiful photos of yours will become the real deal soon. Thanks for sharing and love your writing. Blessings! Brenda

Thanks JJ, One good thing, all of the snow in our yard is now melted and the water puddles all over the yard are soaking in. It’s a horrible time for the dogs to go out to do their duties with all of the wet ground. My floors need constant attention. Nice meeting you and I hope to hear from the other blogger who is moving to Glendale, AZ. I wish her well too. Thanks for the uplift. Brenda
