What a Wonderful Feeling!

Web Books

Recently I received a letter from my dear Aunt Pat in California.  We keep in touch from time to time about the family.  It is always a joy to hear from her.  We have never met in person, believe it or not, but I feel very close to her.  She is my father’s youngest sibling. We could be sisters since we are very close in age.

She was very excited, bless her, about my becoming an author at such an advanced age.  I realized my dream upon retirement.  Well, she was kind enough to buy my first book and gave one to her daughter and granddaughter.  She, being a generous sole, also bought a book for her neighbor’s daughter who is a six-year old girl, a very shy child.  My aunt bought the book for her to help bring her out of her shell.

What gave me a wonderful feeling was what she told me next.  The little girl that she gave my book to, evidently loves it!  She has even become less shy and more confident.  She  reads it every day to her 18-month old brother!  I was so thrilled to hear that she loves it!  This makes all the work at getting published well worth the efforts.  This has always been what I wanted to accomplish – having children love my books!

As I read my aunt’s letter I cried!  I wrote right back to her to tell her that I cried when I read that the little girl loved my book!  Wow, that is better than the best review I could receive on Amazon!!

Thank you, Aunt Pat, for your love and support and for sharing this wonderful news!  I really needed that about now.

We Indie Authors work very hard at writing and promoting our books.  We don’t always see or hear about the children who read our books.  Parents, please share what your children think about our books.  It would do all of us authors a world of good and inspire us to create more books for children all over the world.

If you would like to share please do so at the bottom of this post.  I would love to hear from you.  Send me pictures of your children reading my books too if you like.  I can post them in a blog and thank them for reading my books that way.

If you love Jemsbooks please spread the word to your friends and family.  I would greatly appreciate your support and a kind review on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for stopping by and reading this post.  Blessings to all!

Thought for the Day:  A kind word goes a long way!
