On Saturday, February 15, 2014 I went to see my grandson’s play, Grease, at the Derry Opera House, Derry, NH. I sat mesmerized as the show opened and could not stop tapping my feet and mouthing the words of the songs. No, I did not sing until the very end when everyone in the audience was singing the theme song. There was an abundance of enthusiasm and energy and sheer joy being displayed on stage.
It was a rousing and fantastic time and an unforgettable experience for such a small venue. The show was sold out and well worth the price of a ticket. This show rivaled some of the shows at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH which has local professionals in their shows and their shows are wonderful!!
The actors were professional in every aspect of their performances and sang and acted their hearts out. They were thoroughly entertaining. The show moved me to tears and then laughter as it expressed so many feelings in each scene. I could not believe I was witnessing so much incredible talent on this small stage.
My grandson performed the role of Vince Fontaine and sang beautifully. He is quite the actor too! Of course I am prejudiced! Congrats, Dan, for a perfect performance!
The show was so outstanding in every way from the acting, and singing to the costumes and scenery. Excellence (not just Grease) is the word all around!
The Production Staff has to be the best anywhere to put on this fantastic show to such perfection. I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of them for their dedication and hard work and also to the actors who were all fabulous! The work involved in putting this production together is mind-boggling to say the least! Here is a list of the talented Production Staff below at the bottom of the page.
I look forward to many more fantabulous (my own word!) shows at the Derry Opera Theatre. Who says you have to go to Boston for entertaining theatre?!

That is a great show – and timeless.
You are so right! It is one of my favorites of all time. This production was a high school production with incredibly talented students. It was very enjoyable! I am very proud of my grandson and all of the actors involved.
Thank you for stopping by!
All 3 of my kids did musical theater in high school, and some of the shows were definitely outstanding.
