Showcasing – Make Believe: Bedtime Stories for Children Series Book 1 – a Children’s Book for Ages 5-8!

This is Book 1 of the Bedtime Stories for Children Series. Make Believe is a short story collection for ages 5-8. This book is for early readers or children ages 5-8.

The illustrations and cover were created by my husband, John. He brought my stories to life with his colorful characters that your children will love. I wanted to create some short stories with just one illustration per stories for children who are early readers and want more stories in one book and less pictures.

Reading these short stories your children will feel like they are grownup having chapter books in their library. Each story carries life lessons that will instill in your children the importance of family values, kindness to others, it’s okay to be different, and friendship is important.

This is a short story collection for children ages 5-8. They are perfect for bedtime or any time. They can be read by early readers or by a parent/guardian. They will provide a fun reading time for both the reader and the listener.

Snowing Again!

It looks so beautiful when it first covers everything. I had to share these photos of the snow covering the trees. There will be more snow and more photos to share. With the weather changing from week to week I am enjoying just looking at it until it disappears again. As long as I don’t have to venture out in it I am happy.

What is happening in your part of the world? I hope you are staying safe and warm. This is the perfect weather to cuddle up with a good book beside a warm fire with a hot cup of tea and maybe a couple of ginger snap cookies. Ooh, I’m ready to do that now! How about you?

Showcasing – Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series Book 6: Dragana Helps a Fairy – a Children’s Book!

Today I am showcasing the final book in this series, Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series Book 6: Dragana Helps a Fairy. I think children will love seeing this dragon in a story with a fairy and will learn how important it is to be kind to others in need. Parents will be pleased to find that my dragons are never scary for young children. There are enough frightening things in this world without more in children’s books.

This is the final book in this magical, mystical series of dragons and their good deeds. In Book 6 a new dragon is introduced, Dragana. Each dragon is a different color and the dragons all have names that begin with the letter ‘D.’

Dragana is a dragon who likes to dream.
Nothing is impossible to her, so it seems.
Her scales are colored in burgundy and cream.
Fairies, goblins, and ghosts are her favorite theme.

Dragana discovers a fairy in need one day while flying around.
Will this fairy be afraid of a big dragon?
What will Dragana do to help the fairy?

Jemsbooks Children’s books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

This magical series is for kids PS-Grade 3! There are six books in the series with a different dragon introduced in each book plus Drystan – the star of the series. There are seven dragons in all – four are male and three are female. This series has won seven book awards – two Mom’s Choice Awards Silver Medals, four Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards, and one Top Shelf Book Award!

It is a fun, educational series for children to learn letters, colors, good behavior, friendship, respect, and kindness toward others. Check it out today! Your children will love the rhyming and descriptions of each dragon. There is a poem that introduces a new dragon to each book. All dragons’ names begin with the letter ‘D’ and their colors will be in brilliant shades of blue, green, red, purple, pink, orange and brown. A fun series for kids to enjoy while learning new things at the same time. This series will keep them occupied and happy all year round. Children will love reading these books and they may become their favorite books at bedtime and any time. The illustrations and covers were created by my husband, John.

Showcasing – Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series Book 4: Delfina Solves a Problem – a Children’s Book!

Today I am showcasing the 4th book in the Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series: Delfina Solves a Problem. This is a colorful dragon who uses her intelligence to solve a problem. I think both boys and girls will love Delfina and want to read the rest of the books to discover all the other dragons in this series. What child doesn’t love dragons, make believe and magic? You will find all of this in these entertaining, colorful, educational, and fun stories.

When I wrote this series, I felt like a child again since I love dragons as much as any young child and love to discover the magic and mystery of dragons in these stories. As I have mentioned in many posts, I never know how my stories will end until they do. This goes for my children’s stories too. My characters come to life and create the stories. I am just along for the ride! Haha! I hope you and your children will enjoy the ride too.

It was a lot of fun to create these dragons who are different not only in colors but also in personalities. They are like children discovering all kinds of things that our children discover in everyday life. Children will delight in the colorful dragons, the entertaining story in rhyme and learn valuable life lessons at the same time.

When the other dragons meet about a problem with another dragon called Drago who is a bully, Delfina comes to their rescue and promises to help them deal with the bully.
Read what happens when Delfina meets Drago.

This is Book 2 of Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series: Damara Helps Drystan Find His Roar, another entertaining book in rhyme with life lessons for young children PS-Grade 3.

This was a fun series to write for all those children who love dragons as much as I do. I have always found dragons fascinating and wanted to create stories about dragons that were not frightening but educational helping children learn about letters, colors and important life lessons.

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!

This the second book in the magical series about Drystan the dragon and his friends. These dragons are colorful, engaging and fun to read about. They teach children the importance of friendship, caring for one another, being kind to others, and it’s okay to be different. All dragons are of different colors and their names begin with the letter ‘D’ – a fun way for young children to learn the letter ‘D’ and colors. In Book 2 a new dragon is introduced – Damara, a different dragon who does things her own way. As she is traveling by one day she spies a dragon, Drystan, in distress. She flies down to see what is wrong. It appears that Drystan has lost his roar. What caused Drystan to lose his roar? Can Damara help him get it back? Read this book in rhyme for a comical story that will delight your children. Watch for more books in this mystical series.

I hope if you haven’t brought home this series to your young children that you will check it out soon. I know you will be delighted with the fun stories and adventures of Drystan the Dragon and His Friends!

What I love is to see children enjoying my books, the joy in their faces as they turn each page and discover what each dragon is doing, how the dragons’ names each begin with the letter ‘D’ and the important life lessons that they will learn.

Showcasing – The First Star – a Children’s Book!

Today I am showcasing my children’s book, The First Star, a book dedicated to my two children when they were young and having trouble sleeping. I created a story to calm their fears and let them know that all was well and they were loved and cared for always.

MOM’S CHOICE AWARDS WINNER – SILVER MEDAL!

Once upon a time there were two children who loved their father so much that they missed him terribly each time he had toleave to go away to find buyers for his woodworking. The two children, Chris and Kim, were each given a gift made by their father to keep close to them until he could return. They worried whether he would return and prayed on the first star they saw each night that he would come home safely. This story portrays the love that a father has for his children and them for him in return. It shows that being kind to others by putting others before you can be rewarding. Also, some things like love and good health are far more important than riches.

I think children love to believe in fairy tales. It’s a good thing to use your imagination, especially for young children. It helps their minds expand and their creativity come alive. I hope your children will enjoy this story as much as my children did at that time. They are both grown, have families of their own and have shared this book with them also.

This book was chosen by Mom’s Choice Awards as a Silver Medal Award Winner! @momschoiceawards

Book Award – Maincrest Media for Hunting Mariah!

I was happily surprised and honored to receive an award from Maincrest Media for my crime/thriller/mystery/suspense novel – Hunting Mariah! Here is the link to my book award page.

Thank you, Maincrest Media, for this award. I am honored and grateful.

AUTHORSDB FIRST LINES CONTEST – FINALIST!

An insane killer, obsessed with blood and death, seeks revenge with those he perceives wronged him. He is now on the loose. His next victim may be Mariah.

Mariah has lost her memory. Will she remember what has transpired in her past? Can Mariah escape this deadly killer’s grasp. Will she finally be safe? Will the killer be apprehended?

Above is a copy of the sticker for the award.

Please check out Hunting Mariah today if you haven’t already read it. It was my first novel and quite a new genre for me to tackle at the time when I was only writing children’s books. Since then I have branched out all over the place with genres and age groups.

This story was a difficult task for me since it involves a serial killer. As I have mentioned in the past, I wrote this story after hearing about a rape on a college campus about the time my daughter was going off to college. I warned her never to walk alone especially at night and always be vigilant about everything around her. Thank God she was always safe. But this story kept developing in my dreams and I had to write it down to rid my head of the torments from the serial killer. He would not leave me alone until I told his story. I hope you will read this story and keep your college kids safe. I warn you that you will not be able to put it down once you begin. Don’t stop after this book, but grab book 2, Mariah’s Revenge, for the continuing story about Mariah.

Thank you for stopping by to read this post and for your kind support of my books and blog.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!
