Do you love stories about angels? Please check out these angel books today!

If you love stories about angels, you are in the right place. I have authored stories about angels a few times. Have you read any of them? You will laugh, cry and feel the pain of those are suffering and need help.

I truly believe that there are angels walking among us. I have had dreams where I have seen many of my deceased relatives several times over. After one has passed away they soon appear to me in my dreams and are so real that I feel like I am there with them. I will share a couple of stories in another post about what I have experienced outside my dreams too. Have you had any experiences like this from beyond with angels?

Here are the books about angels.

Parker and Priscilla Wilfork are happily married with two children. Life seemed perfect and peaceful until Parker goes on a business trip and does not return. Priscilla finds her world turned upside down when she searches for answers to how and why Parker disappeared.

One night Priscilla has a dream that Parker is an angel. Does this mean that Parker is now dead? After two years and no sign of Parker except in her dreams, Priscilla makes the decision to tell her children that their father has gone to Heaven.

Priscilla tries to get their lives back together until one day Deanna disappears too. Now Priscilla must go on a quest to find her daughter before it’s too late. She fears her daughter’s disappearance might be connected in some way to her husband’s. Can Priscilla go on with her life if she loses Deanna too?

With the help of a handsome police Sergeant, Blake Furelli, they work together to try to find Deanna and solve the mystery behind Parker’s disappearance. During this trying time, Blake, who suffered a loss of his own, feels drawn to the ethereal beauty of Priscilla.

This is not a children’s book. Branyrd is a different kind of angel. She has a difficult time being understood because of her habit of getting into all kinds of trouble and for her unacceptable language. Angels are not supposed to swear.

This angel must earn levels to be accepted by the LORD. She is presently at Angel Fourth Class and must ascend to Angel First Class in order to be given a mission to travel to Earth to help a human in trouble.

Once she reaches Angel First Class, she is given a mission and travels to Earth to help a battered woman and her child. Since she is so new to the ways on Earth, Branyrd is accompanied by her Guardian Angel Benedicto, Angel First Class on High, who guides and advises her.

Branyrd doesn’t know what she will do or how she will complete this mission. She must show her strengths and succeed, or she may be demoted. What she finds on Earth is not what she expected. It certainly is nothing like Heaven. There are dangerous people but also those who she will miss dearly when she must leave.

Branyrd goes on another mission to Earth, this time she has been enlisted to help a homeless vet and his young son. The Angel goes out of her way to put things right for Lucas and his son, Ezra. She finds it difficult through with the influx of empathic messages and feelings that threaten to overload her. Will she be able to help Lucas get his family back together and find his way to recovery after suffering from PTSD?

Branyrd is a funny, sweet, strong, resilient and capable Angel who is not afraid to take on the toughest tasks, who strives to pave the way for those in need, who creates change and makes a difference in the lives of others that enables them to find their way forward to a good life.

When Branyrd visits a homeless community, she meets with the mayor to work out a plan to solve the problems the homeless have there. Will others stop her from helping those in need? Will Benedicto be there in case she needs his intervention? Will Branyrd be able to break free from the connections she has made when it is time for her to leave Earth and return to Heaven?

Branyrd is on another mission which may be the toughest one so far. She has been sent to a troubled island in the South Pacific that is being attacked by the fellow islands in the archipelago. Her mission is to rescue some children from an orphanage during the attacks.

She is escorted, once again, by her Guardian Angel, Benedicto, who is there as counsel and aide as she completes her mission. What Branyrd finds there is devastation and heartbreak as she tackles the mission, this time one of love for the children and the rest of the islanders who have lost family and homes.

There are many obstacles that stand in her way and danger for the children and others as she must rescue not only them, but also another island that is in danger of sinking.

These stories will make you a believer if you aren’t already after you read them. You will feel the angst that they feel when they try to help us on Earth. But they do not give up, thank God for that!

Here are some reader’s who loved these stories.

Books Read and Reviewed in February 2024!

Here it is already the end of another month. Where does the time go? I have been busy as usual reading some wonderful books for the month of February of 2024. Here are the 7 books I read and reviewed for February. I might have read even more if I didn’t have a few WIP. But I always seemed to have a WIP! That fact never stops me! I hope you enjoy reading these reviews.

I love sharing my eclectic reads in this Jemsbooks Segment, Books Read in the Month. I hope you will get a chance to look over these books soon. Thank you for your kind support of my work and that of my fellow authors.

If you are an avid reader, as I am, please review the books you love on Amazon or wherever you purchased them for others to enjoy your reviews. Reviews are one way for readers to know about an exceptional book. We indie authors love to receive reviews and appreciate the efforts of readers to do them. Once again, I thank you for your kind support of me and my books and for supporting my fellow authors too.

When I wrote these reviews I rated them on Amazon, Goodreads and sometimes Barnes & Noble. I did not include the ratings here though. It is best to share my thoughts with you about how I felt about the book without the rating. Ratings can be deceiving at times.

We all feel differently about books. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we like them and still other times we may dislike a book. Some others are so memorable they take our breaths away! While still others are sweet, sensitive, and enjoyable reads that we soon will forget. But all these books I have reviewed were lovely reads as you can see from my reviews. I hope you enjoy my reviews and that they help you decide what will be your next read.

Deception Point is another outstanding novel from best-selling author, Dan Brown. The story begins with so much scientific information that I felt overwhelmed at first until I got acclimated to this data. He had to do mucho research with the help of many scientists to bring all this together into a story.

I was held captive by the greed, decent, corruption of different agencies and people who would do anything to keep their agency receiving money even though they are not doing legitimate work for the country. The characters were fascinating, bringing the story full circle.

This novel is a must read if you love science, outer space, and oceanography. You will become engrossed and learn more than you can imagine about all of it and more. It had me holding my breath with all action, adventures, and danger at every turn.

A Cold Trail is the seventh book in the Tracy Crosswhite series that was intriguing, fast-paced, and full of suspects. Tracy is a fascinating character, strong, resilient, tough when she must be yet sensitive to her husband’s feelings of love and fear for her life each time, she takes on another violent crime case.

This story relates some of the past for the reader to refresh their memory of what has transpired up to this time. I don’t always read books in a series close together, so it helped me get up to speed with the character and what she did before. Now that Tracy has a child, she is more aware of the danger she puts herself in and worries about her child being motherless if something happens to her. This doesn’t always stop her from doing something dangerous because she is driven to complete each task to the best of her ability.

There were many clues in this story that eventually led to the suspect in question even though I was still surprised at the outcome. This was an enjoyable mystery, crime, thriller series and I look forward to the next book to see what Tracy came do next to solve another cold case.

I highly recommend this series to all lovers of crime, thrillers, mystery, and suspenseful stories.

In Her Tracks was a gripping addition to the Tracy Crosswhite Series. Tracy is once again on some tough cases and has to deal with her disgruntled boss who fights her on every case.

She must solve some cold case mysteries in this book after she is pushed aside by her boss when he assigns her position to another agent when she returns from her maternity leave. She is forced to take on some cold cases like her own sister’s disappearance and eventual death that only help to bring back the pain of the loss of her sister.

A gripping story of the tragedy of cold cases and the heinous mind and work of cold-bloodied, serial killers. A well-written series that is an enjoyable and worthwhile read.

Without a Trace is a gripping story of a man beginning anew after a narrow escape with death. What is more important, having plenty of money without love or love without money? This is the question that the main protagonist, Charles Vincent, in this story must decide.

Charles has it all in his life, wealth, a family, and an important job, but is this enough for him? We see how much he is tormented by what he no longer has – love. When he nearly loses his life in a car accident, he decides to give up his old life and begin anew but this isn’t a simple solution to his dilemma.

I enjoyed this book but found it full of redundancy about the feelings, situations, etc. of the characters and scenes. The author felt compelled to keep reminding us of what was already relevant. I have read many of Steel’s books but have not noticed this repetition in her previous work.

Perilous Trust is the beginning of an intriguing mystery series. In this book Sophie Parker, the main protagonist, must solve a mysterious message that her father, an FBI Agent, left her before his death. A man she met years ago, with whom she had a one-night stand, aids her.

There is a back story about Sophie and her one-night tryst with Damon, who is with the FBI. There is danger at every turn that prevents them from staying in one place too long for no one can be trusted. They have feelings for one another that grow as they become dependent upon each other to stay alive.

Freethy is a creative writer who knows how to create stories with plenty of intrigue, suspects and a storyline that keeps the reader guessing until the end.

Hart’s Ridge is not just a mystery and crime story but also a heartwarming one with a dog who steals the show in every scene. The main protagonist is Taylor, a detective in a small-town police force who struggles with family issues and chauvinistic fellow officers.

Taylor is a strong, resilient woman who tries to take care of everyone in her family as she struggles to meet her own needs. Her father is depressed and drinks too much while two of her three sisters are too busy with their own families to worry about their father and her youngest sister is a wild child who is always into trouble and coming back to Taylor to be rescued repeatedly.

Being the only woman on the police force is a challenging job since no one pays attention to Taylor or gives her credit for her initiative in solving crimes. She is a fascinating character but lonely until she adopts a dog who is a sweetheart. There is also a mystery surrounding this dog that was interesting and emotional that brought tears to my eyes and made me love this dog even more.

I enjoyed this book with its heartwarming appeal and for the intriguing mystery and crime story. I would highly recommend this series and look forward to the next installment.

At this writing, I am still reading this book but have read enough to do a review. I will finish it soon though.

This book is a comprehensive and informative chronology of how our world has evolved from the fifth century’s intellect to today’s infusion of technology and introduction of AI. Though AI has been around, in some form, for a long time it is becoming more popular and acceptable in today’s technologically hungry society.

The three authors detail how civilization has grown from the horse and buggy to automobiles, from everything being made by hand to incorporating machines into the workforce, and how our minds have expanded in knowledge to create machines that can aid doctors in research and medicine, teachers in education, and help us to learn how to think outside the box in ways we never thought possible.

It is an exciting time, but it also brings along some reticence and fear of what AI can do and how far it will take us into the unknown as we become less relevant when the machines take over more of what we would normally do. Also, there is the danger of AI not having a conscious when it comes to using it in politics and during negotiations to prevent war. Will we be able to control AI and regulate what it can and cannot do? How far will AI take us into the future? There is no end to how advanced it will become. Do the benefits outweigh the negative results?

Much of this is my interpretation of what I read even though the authors have not given any indication of what they think or solutions to the problems that could evolve from the use of AI. There are many questions left unanswered.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Come back again for more book reviews each month and daily for whatever pops into my already overcrowded head.

Do you love short stories with a twist? An Angel Among Us – Short Story Collection – dedicated to a dear friend!

If you do not have time to read a long book or love variety, short stories with a twist and surprise ending, and a change of pace in reading, then please check out this book, An Angel Among Us – Short Story Collection, 15 stories to keep you turning pages and wanting more.

A collection of short stories that covers several genres including romance, grief/loss, mystery, suspense, sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal. This book is dedicated to a courageous friend who passed away this year. The first story is specially created for her and is the inspiration for the title of this book.

This book was dedicated to a high school friend who died of breast cancer in 2017. Anne was a lovely and kind person who would go above and beyond to help those in need. She gave so much of herself in everything she did for others up until the time she passed away. She was loved by many and missed every day.

Anne and I were friends in high school but afterward went our separate ways and did not connect until years later at a school reunion. Then after that we were out of each others’ lives again until we connected on FB one day a short time before she died. I always wished that we had been able to reconnect long before this tragic time.

During that short time we corresponded back and forth, and I mentioned that I was writing a short story collection. I told her that day that I was going to write a story just for her and dedicate my book and title to her. She was truly An Angel Among Us; one that I will never forget. I felt blessed to know her and get in touch before she was gone.

When you read this story and our correspondence, I guarantee, you will feel the love and heartache that I felt as I wrote and responded to her. It was heartbreaking even more so since she had lost her husband the year before due to cancer. Unfortunately, Anne died before this book was published but I did manage to send her a copy of the story. She told me that she was honored and delighted by the story and thankful for my efforts. My dedication to her was a way to honor her memory. I only wished she could have had the book in hand.

All the stories have a surprise ending, and each one is in a different genre. I love writing in a variety of genres. There is something for all tastes in this book.

Here is what readers are saying.

I hope if you haven’t already read and reviewed this book, that you will give it a try soon. I would love to hear your thoughts and whether you would like to see another short story collection in the future.

A reader did ask me if I would continue some of the stories into full-length books since they enjoyed the stories so much that they didn’t want them to end. By hearing this, it makes me think that I did something right by gripping the reader so much that they wanted more.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this book and for your continued support. Please come back again for more books, reviews, specials and whatever else pops into my already overcrowded head.

A Memorable Historical Romance that will touch your heart – Lubelia Alycea: One Hundred Years!

I wrote this historical fiction/romance and dedicated it to my grandmother (Avoa – Portuguese for grandmother) who died at the age of 100.5 on Mother’s Day several years ago. Although I never told her that I would write a story and dedicate it to her memory when she passed, she did share many of her stories in hopes that I would.

Lubelia Alycea leaves her native country of Madeira, Portugal to travel to her new home – America.

This is the story of how a strong, resilient young girl grows into a formidable woman. She must survive many tragedies in her lifetime, separation from family, sickness, death, betrayal, and a lost love. Will she find happiness and a new love in her life?

Will she be strong enough to face the storms ahead and still keep her family together? Will the secrets in her life destroy her and all that she holds dear?

She was a fascinating person as you will see if you read this book, and I do hope that you will. Most of it is embellished and purely fiction but the character traits are all her. I did put a lot of family into the story using fictional names and giving them a part. I thought my family who do read this book would get a chuckle out of being in the story even though their parts were also fictional. A couple of family members did share that they loved the book and enjoyed guessing who the characters were.

Avoa was a cantankerous person, always right and not one to lose an argument. I loved her dearly and always got a laugh out of her and shared many of my own over our conversations. She loved me and always told me that I was her favorite. I wonder how many others heard this same thing. I don’t think so though since I was the only one who visited her and brought her favorite food – lobster rolls. (So she told me time and time again so I would come back). Haha! I miss her so much but know that it was her time to go. She had a full and rich life, tough at times, but that was what made her so strong.

Here is a book trailer I created using Animoto.

Read what readers are saying.

If you have someone in your life that would love this book, someone who came to America to find the American dream or someone who wants to come here, this is the book for them. With a strong will, a determination to live a life free, a willingness to work hard to be a good citizen and live a good life, this is all possible. My grandmother did all that and she left us a legacy that no one can take away. She paved the way with many heartships and tragedies but somehow survived. We are thankful for her determination to do this and provide so much for us in our lives.

One day I will read this book again and cry many more tears of joy and heartache for her. I don’t like to read past books I have written since I always want to change things. My writing has changed and improved (a little) and hope it will continue to improve as I hone my craft. There is always room for improvement.

I hope you will check this book out soon and shed your own tears and feel her pain, sorrow and joy. If you do, then I have been successful in creating a story to be proud of and one that Avoa would have loved.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. I would love to hear your thoughts about this book and welcome and appreciate reviews wherever you purchase my books.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Do your children love dragons? Check out this dragon series today!

I know many children are fascinated by dragons. Even though I am not a child (only a child at heart), I too love dragons. That is why I wrote this series, Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series Books 1-6 to share with children who love to read about dragons that are not scary.

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!
TOP SHELF BOOK AWARDS WINNER – RUNNERS-UP

This is a magical series about Drystan the dragon and his friends. These dragons are colorful, engaging and fun to read about. They teach children the importance of friendship, caring for one another, being kind to others, and it’s okay to be different. All dragons are of different colors and their names begin with the letter ‘D’ – a fun way for young children to learn the letter ‘D’ and colors.
In Book 1 Drystan makes a new friend, Durward, who invites him to visit the Land of the Rainbows. While they are there, they have an adventure. Find out what the dragons do to save the day.

So many books about dragons are too frightening for children. My dragon books are not at all scary. Even the meanest dragon learns how to be kinder by helping others. Each book carries important life lessons that children will learn as they read these fun adventures.

Here are the life lessons your children will learn from my children’s books:

Louey the Lazy Elephant – Louey teaches children the importance of not being lazy and always listening to your mother.

WIP Coming Along!

I have been busy with my WIP, therefore, I haven’t found time to post much. I haven’t had the opportunity to write every day until recently. This is due to getting up earlier and having more time on my hands to fit in the book. Of course, getting up earlier is causing me to fall asleep earlier! Sigh!

The latest news about the WIP – Gateskin Chronicles Book 3 is – now I am at over 400 pages and 50K + words with no end in sight yet! I hope to end with close to 500 pages and over 60K words.

Writing this series is an adventure in itself with the myriad characters, creatures, places, and magic spells that are all around. It is a job in itself to keep track of everything. I don’t normally write notes as I go along but with this book I have written a synopsis of each chapter and an ongoing list of characters, places, spells, etc. It is all mind-boggling to say the least.

With all this going on I am still having a good time making magic happen in my mind. Writing fantasy certainly sparks the creativity and keeps me awake. I hope you have enjoyed the first two books in this series and are looking forward to this next one.

At this time I cannot promise to have it completed for March which was my original plan. With all the characters that keep poking me to tell their stories and the spells that keep on appearing, I don’t see an end in sight. I will keep plogging along until I end it and begin the editing phase. I have read a previous chapter each time I pick it up from one day to the next since I need to know where I ended my thoughts the previous day. But it doesn’t take me too long to get right into it again. The characters are the ones telling the story and I am just along for the wild ride.

Purchase YA books here.

Stay tuned for more developments of this WIP. Wish me luck in finishing in a timely fashion. Branyrd is getting antsy and wants my attention in her fourth book. Sigh! There is never any rest for an author!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Come back again for more updates, books, reviews and whatever else pops into my already overcrowded head.

What to write next?

I am deep into the latest fantasy series, Gateskin Chronicles, but I keep feeling a tug to go back to the Branyrd the Angel Series. I have in the past written two books simultaneously. I do not want to do this but Branyrd invades my thoughts and dreams. She wants to tell another story.

My plan is to begin Book 4 in the Branyrd the Angel Series as soon as I complete my present WIP. Do you find this happening to you too if you are a writer?

I am fortunate to have this creativity that continues to spark inside my head and encourages me to write down the thoughts and ideas that are there. At times it can be overwhelming though.

While I am struggling to ignore Branyrd I will keep engrossed in Gateskin until completion. I hope you will check out both series soon if you haven’t already.

Here are book trailers that I created for this series.

If you haven’t read this series yet, I hope you will check it out soon. Here are some reviews from readers.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please review books you love or not for all the hard-working authors who appreciate your efforts.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!
