New Book Trailer for Branyrd the Angel Book 4: Mission of Hope!

I recently created this book trailer with Animoto.com. This is the place to go to create a book trailer. I have created several with them now and am happy with the results. I upgraded to the Professional level which offers me more to create interesting and intriguing book trailers. I hope you like this one.

This series is now complete unless Branyrd comes to me with another mission to share. Some readers have requested that I continue with more missions. Well, you never know what an Angel will do. Branyrd could surprise even me! I left her in this book with a multi-mission that was incredibly difficult for her and Benedicto, her Guardian Angel, to complete. I think she is quite exhausted and needs to recharge in Heaven.

If you haven’t read any of this series, I hope you will check it out soon to feel the love, mercy and hope that Branyrd provides for the people of the world. We all need love, mercy and hope in our lives. Without hope there is no chance to grow. Let Branyrd provide all this when you read this unforgettable series.

Branyrd must face evil on Earth in this latest book. The LORD instructs her to give Hope to the people who are suffering from injustice, persecution, and evil factions that force them from their homes. The Angel must help those who are preyed upon, others who are straying from good, and still others who are lost.

Benedicto, her Guardian Angel, will be her constant companion during this tough mission and support her on her path of leading all peoples to GOD.

When I finished this series I felt the love, mercy and hope that Branyrd imparted to the people in need. I hope she will leave you feeling that nothing is impossible if you believe in the LORD.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please remember to review books for hard-working authors out there in book land. They will appreciate your efforts to help spread word about their books to readers.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Earthquake in New England!

On Monday, January 27, 2025 in late morning we felt the vibrations and rumbling of an earthquake. I was in my bathroom when I felt this quaking. The whole room and walls appeared to be vibrating with rattling sounds all around me. It was at first measured to be 4.1 but later downgraded to 3.8. I called for my husband but he was in the shower. When he came out I relayed what I felt and heard and he said he hadn’t heard or felt a thing. Sigh! He missed it all! I was shaking along with the tremors with surprise, shock and a little frightened.

I took a photo of the notice in the newspaper for you to read below. The last time I remembered an earthquake in New Hampshire was back in 1986 or so. I was awoken by a rumbling sound and the rattling and shaking of a vase and bowl that I had on a nearby table. It lasted for several seconds. I think it was a little higher than 4.1 at that time. Some people had damaged dishes and cracks in their basements, which we noticed afterward.

This was quite frightening even though they were minor quakes. I knew after the shaking stopped what it was even before I read it in the paper the next day. This type of quake is not common and does not cause any damage other than scaring the people who experience it.

I was relieved to hear that this quake did not cause damage In our home as far as we know. Also, no cause for alarm about a tsunami coming our way even if this quake was beneath the Atlantic Ocean.

Have you had any earthquakes in your area? Please share. At times like this I am glad that I don’t live in areas where the tectonic plates are constantly shifting and causing quakes and possible tsunamis. Phew!

Well, I feel safe and secure for the time being unless we have more. I can get back to my writing once again. Stay tuned for more news about anything that happens in my area.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Where Does Inspiration Come from?

I wonder sometimes where inspiration comes from. I never know when or where my muse is going to inspire me. Plans can be made sometimes to write but they don’t always work out.

When I write a book I begin with a title. If I don’t have a title I cannot begin to write. Once in a while I need to tweak a title a little as the story may take a twist or turn in another direction. I have only changed the title on two books out of 24 books published so far. With the title selected I feel inspired to begin.

My inspiration comes from my love of reading, and my desire to inspire children of all ages to grow to love books as much as I do. I feel blessed that the Lord has given me the ability to be able to write. I plan to do that for as long as I possibly can.

I believe that inspiration can come from many aspects of our lives in everyday things. It could be a great book we read, something we heard in passing, an experience that changed our thinking, someone we met that left an indelible mark on our lives or just the fact that we feel inspired to write because we love the joy we experience when we create a new story. I truly feel great joy when I write as I travel through a story creating characters, places and mysteries. It is exhilarating and makes me forget everything else including dinner and housework.

Once I begin a new book I feel the energy flowing, my muse working overtime and the characters taking over the plot. The characters become my inspiration. I let them have their say up to a point. It is an incredible feeling of being free to sit back as if I am a passenger on a journey not knowing where I am going.

I do occasionally write up some notes and a bare bones outline when I feel inspired to do so. Most of the time I let my fingers do the traveling across the keyboard. I try to write every day in one form or another whether I feel inspired or not but sometimes life gets in the way and keeps me from writing as often as I want. I find that once I begin writing I feel inspiration taking over and the words flow. I am in my element at this point and feel blessed.

If I don’t find time to write in my WIP, I do work on emails, posts, and book reviews. Writing in any form helps me hone my craft and keeps me fresh. Once I find a genre to write, nothing can stop me. I thoroughly enjoy writing for MG/PT/YA with my Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series and Abby & Holly Series. I will be working on another MG/PT series after I complete my present fantasy series. I look forward to working with this age group again.

What inspires you to write? Do you write every day whether you are inspired or not? May your muse be at your side every day and inspire you to write! Happy writing! Whatever you love to do, I hope you are inspired to do it every day and feel great joy when you do.

Nearing my goal of 50 books!

I made a goal of 50 books before I stop writing or are unable to write. At currently 47 books with two WIP, I am nearing my goal of 50 books. At the time I made this goal, I didn’t think I would complete this many so quickly. I may make this goal, if not this year then in 2026.

This series has five book awards – three Mom’s Choice Awards Gold Medals, Book Excellence Finalists Award, and a Maincrest Media Book Award.

Word Art – Gateskin Chronicles

As I get older, each year I am slowing down and not setting impossible goals for myself as I once did many years ago. I used to set goals of 5 books a year. One year I did complete 8. That will never happen again! Haha! Now I set a goal of 2-3. This year I plan to do 2 maybe 3.

It all depends upon what type of book I write and how long it is. This year after I publish the children’s book, I will get right into my fantasy series, Gateskin Chronicles Book 4. This new book already has three chapters completed. I may write two of these books, maybe not. They are epic fantasies that take a lot out of me and the preparation is time-consuming and exhausting coming up with new characters, creatures, mysteries, and magical situations for my main protagonists. Wish me luck!

My mind is always sparking with new ideas that it becomes overwhelming at times. I have two ideas on the back burners that I can’t wait to get into. But I need to complete Gateskin Chronicles Books 5 & 6 of this series before I pick up the others. I have written two books simultaneously but don’t plan on taking on more than one at a time. It can be confusing at times and mistakes can be made mixing up the stories.

There is always something brewing at JemsBooks! Watch for new books and news about whatever pops into my overcrowded head. Come on back anytime. You are always welcome.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please review books for hard-working authors out there who will appreciate your efforts to help spread word about their books. Spread the love of reading with those who create stories for you to enjoy.

Working on a new book trailer for Branyrd the Angel Book 4!

I hadn’t created a book trailer since my last fantasy book and forgot how difficult it could be. Sigh! It is not easy to find photos about things or feelings that would look good in this trailer. I wanted to do this myself for the feeling of accomplishment and at the same time saving the expense.

It may be a little while before I complete it but I will keep plugging along. In the meantime, please check out this series and the other trailers I created using Animoto.com. It still costs me a little but I’m sure it would be more if I went elsewhere. Besides being aggravating at times, it can be fun creating and seeing my book come to life.

Read what others are saying about this inspirational and unforgettable Angel:

Some of my readers love this series so much that they have asked me to write more missions for Branyrd. I don’t write the missions but just listen to Branyrd as she shares her tales with me. If she has anymore she wants to share, then I will write them for my readers. I think the last mission was such an exhausting one that she may not have the energy to take on another. But, of course, you never know!

I am currently working on a children’s book along with my illustrator/husband in between the book trailer. I take a day off every so often to watch football, basketball or to exercise. We all need to move away and do something different to recharge our creativity.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Authors need reviews! Please give some love to authors by reviewing their books. We will love you for your efforts.

Visitor footprints in the snow!

We recently had another snowfall which was not at all substantial but was enough to showcase all the visitors we have had to our yard. We don’t see all this traffic because some of it may come very early or later in the day. We know, however, that we are not alone.

I always love seeing all the traffic we get from the animals in the area. We have many deer and turkey footprints and other animal tracks that you can see in the photos above. We don’t realize just how many animals pass through our backyard.

By the looks of the traffic, we may be outnumbered by all the animals around us. I am thrilled to see that many that feel safe enough to come so close. It is a wonderful place to live, New Hampshire. It feels real countrified even if is it still growing by leaps and bounds since we moved here. I only hope the animals don’t leave the area to find other places to roam. I would miss their footprints in the snow.

I am sure there will be many more snowfalls and myriad animal footprints in the snow to enjoy.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please show some love to authors by reviewing their books wherever you purchase them. They will appreciate your efforts to help spread word about their work.

An adorable new follower of JemsBooks children’s books!

I was so happy to receive a photo from my nephew’s wife of their adorable boy. Lucas is a one-year-old and such a joyful little guy. I love him to bits! I saw him recently at Christmas time and got to hold him. He is so precious in every way. Here is a photo of him reading one of my books, Make Believe Once Again: Bedtime Stories for Children. It looks like I have a new fan of my books! He is so precious!

A new fan of JemsBooks!

I received permission from his mother to post this adorable photo of their handsome little boy. Don’t you just love how he appears to be really engrossed and actually reading this book? I love it!!

His mother, Ashleigh, told me that he loves the book and is having a grand ole time with it. She also said that he is quite focused, and he will be working on a fully detailed book report in writing! I got a good laugh out of this one! I wish others were so focused on my books like this little guy! Haha!

Thank you, Ashleigh, for sharing this precious photo. I will keep it and enjoy looking at it again and again! Hugs to you three.

Here is a photo of three of my grandchildren reading my books, my granddaughter and two grandsons. Of course, this above photo is when they there much younger. Today my granddaughter is 14, and my grandsons are 18 and 20.

Unputdownable thriller/suspense/crime fiction novel – Mariah’s Revenge!

This post is to highlight the sequel to Hunting Mariah. Mariah’s Revenge was written four years later. It picks up where the first book ended with a bang. I was relieved when I finished both books for the disturbing dreams ended then too. Phew!

AUTHORSDB FIRST LINES CONTEST – FINALIST!

This book begins where the first book, Hunting Mariah, left off. This suspense/thriller/crime novel will keep you turning pages as the tension grows. There will be twists and turns and some surprises. Many of the same characters will be in play to give support and encouragement to Mariah along the way.
A new man comes into Mariah’s life that reminds her of someone she wants to forget. He threatens to bring back the horrors that she and her family once endured. While the one she wants to forget suffers from a horrendous attack that puts his life in jeopardy.
Mariah must draw on her strength and resilience to survive danger at every turn. How much more can Mariah endure? How far will Mariah go to protect her family?

I have thought from time to time that I may give Mariah a series beyond these two stories. It is still a possibility but I do have other works waiting in the wings to give voice. This two-book series was difficult to write since it was violent and frightening to me. It kept me awake many nights when I had to relive some of the scenes.

Here are some reviews on Amazon. Read what others are saying about this book.

Here is a book trailer I created. I hope you enjoy it and that it grabs your attention.

An unforgettable and emotional historical/romance fiction read – Lubelia Alycea!

This story comes from my memories of my incomparable grandmother. She was known as Avoa which is grandmother in Portuguese. Everyone who met her would call her Avoa. They thought that was her name. Haha!

My grandmother was a strong, resilient woman who was determined to say her mind and make others listen to her. She was not what you would call a soft and sweet grandmother. She could be quite tough if you crossed her, but she was always generous and loving.

She did so much for me over the years that I don’t know how I would have survived without her assistance. She took care of my son so I could go back to work when I needed to at weeks after delivering him. She cared for him for two years and then my mother took over for two more. I do mention some of the things that she did for me in the story because some of it was close to the truth while other things were from my broad imagination.

Lubelia Alycea leaves her native country of Madeira, Portugal to travel to her new home – America.

This is the story of how a strong, resilient young girl grows into a formidable woman. She must survive many tragedies in her lifetime, separation from family, sickness, death, betrayal, and a lost love. Will she find happiness and a new love in her life?

Will she be strong enough to face the storms ahead and still keep her family together? Will the secrets in her life destroy her and all that she holds dear?

What we must remember is to talk to our elderly relatives in our families to learn so much about their lives and how difficult it must have been for them growing in a tougher world. You would be surprised at what they will share with you and enjoy doing it. As we get older it is nice to know that someone still listens to us and cares what we think. Please listen to your elderly family members. You will learn a lot more than you could ever imagine, and at the same time, make them happy. It’s a good feeling to do that. God bless them for what they sacrificed to make a way for us. I am truly thankful for all my grandmother had to endure to pave the way for the rest of the family. God bless her!

I found out how much I could learn by listening to my grandmother’s many stories. Being an author, I know well how to embellish a simple story to make it even more fantastic than it already is. I think Avoa would be laughing at what I created in this book that was in her memory and dedicated to her. I miss her every day along with my mom and dad. Once they were all gone, I felt lost without their consul and support. I wanted to keep some of this by writing about them in this book. I feel as if I did. I hope you enjoy it!

My Avoa had a sense of humor and would laugh so heartedly that I thought she would fall over and have a heart attack. It was quite catchy too. Once she began to laugh I did too along with everyone who was there at the time. She was an entertaining and fascinating personality. She could sing, dance, and tell you a story about her life.

I don’t know if any of the family will ever live as long as she did, but I am going to try my best! Her secrets? She loved steak and mushrooms and a nightly sip of brandy. I love mushrooms but not steak or brandy. Oh well, maybe I won’t make 100 after all! Haha!

Here is a book trailer that I created using Animoto.com.

Here are some reviews from Amazon. Read what others are saying about this book.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. I hope you will check out this book for an unforgettable read about a formidable young girl who became even more formidable as a woman, my grandmother.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

An intriguing novel – mystery/romance/clairvoyant – In a Second!

In a Second is an intriguing novel with mystery and clairvoyant episodes throughout adding multi-dimension to the story. There also is a charming character who will capture your heart and bring a smile to your face. Many readers loved this character which makes me think that she will have a story of her own one day. With all the ideas I have on the back burner, it may be quite a while before that comes to fruition. In life things can change in a second just like in this book. Please check it out today and find out how this one sweet character can steal each scene she is in.

This story came to be in a dream as many of my creations do. I kept seeing an accident and a woman bleeding. It gave me quite a start when I first saw it. I feared that this might be a precursor to something terrible that would happen to someone I knew. I have had dreams like this that came true as frightening as that is to imagine. I kept asking if everyone was okay and watched the papers for anything like this. Thank God it was just one of my dreams spurred on by my overactive imagination.

Athena feels as if she is going out of her mind. She can’t function after losing her fiancé, Justin, in a car accident, or did she? She keeps having dreams or rather nightmares of being trapped in a car with Justin’s lifeless body. But when she wakes up in the hospital no one will tell her what happened to Justin. She begins to think that he is a figment of her imagination until she calls his number and he answers. They make a date but then, he doesn’t show up.

There are many secrets that Athena’s parents are keeping from her. Can she deal with all the secrets that threaten her whole being? Her only salvation is her Gramma Grace who knows the truth and has the power of clairvoyance to help her.

Athena finally meets someone who could possibly give her a chance at love again but can Lucas give her what she needs or is he asking too much of her? When her psychiatrist, Dr. Nick Jasper, shows an interest in her too she feels overwhelmed and confused.

Will Athena be able to choose between Dr. Jasper and Lucas? Will she ever forget Justin?

Here are some reviews from Amazon. Read what others are saying about this book.
