My friend, Effrosyni Moschoudi, from Greece will have her newsletter out on May 30, 2025. I hope you will check it out. I will try to post the link here for you to view. She always has many of her own books and those of fellow authors with special prices for you to enjoy in e-book format. She is not only a lovely person but a talented writer of romance novels featured on the Greek Islands. You must check out her books. I love every one of them that I have read.

My e-book, How Far is Heaven, will be one of the books featured there. It will be offered at the low price of .99 cents for one week and one week only beginning 5/30/25 and ending on 6/5/25 for US and beginning 5/31/25 – 6/6/25 for UK! This book recently received a 5-star review from Readers’ Favorite Book Awards.

It is a touching and memorable romance/mystery/suspense/paranormal story that will keep you enthralled and reaching for the tissues. It is heart-wrenching and beautiful at the same time. Sorry about boasting about it. But I recently read it again and felt the heartbreak and tears of the main protagonist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing and then reading it again. Haha!

Readers’ Favorite Book Award 5-Stars

Parker and Priscilla Wilfork are happily married with two children. Life seemed perfect and peaceful until Parker goes on a business trip and does not return. Priscilla finds her world turned upside down when she searches for answers to how and why Parker disappeared.

One night Priscilla has a dream that Parker is an angel. Does this mean that Parker is now dead? After two years and no sign of Parker except in her dreams, Priscilla makes the decision to tell her children that their father has gone to Heaven.

Priscilla tries to get their lives back together until one day Deanna disappears too. Now Priscilla must go on a quest to find her daughter before it’s too late. She fears her daughter’s disappearance might be connected in some way to her husband’s. Can Priscilla go on with her life if she loses Deanna too?

With the help of a handsome police Sergeant, Blake Furelli, they work together to try to find Deanna and solve the mystery behind Parker’s disappearance. During this trying time, Blake, who suffered a loss of his own, feels drawn to the ethereal beauty of Priscilla.

DON’T FORGET – HOW FAR IS HEAVEN e-book WILL BE $.99 BEGINNING 5/30/25 – ENDING 6/5/25 for US and BEGINNING 5/31/25 AND ENDING 6/6/25 FOR UK! Grab your copy for an unforgettable read!

Writing stories like this one can be difficult because it involves children. Our children are so precious to us and should be protected and loved to the best of our abilities. They are a gift from Heaven for sure. It is not an easy job being a parent. Anyone who has children can attest to that. We watch over them day and night and try to keep them from harming themselves when they are just beginning to walk, then run and when they leave home to go out on their own. We never stop worrying about them. Am I right? I still worry about my children who are now grownup adults with children of their own. Now I have more to worry about – grandchildren! It never ends.

I hope you will enjoy this novel and want to check out all the other novels I have written. I write in multi-genres for all ages, so there is something for everyone in your family. Happy Reading!

New additions to our saltwater tank!

The last time I wrote about our 95-gallon saltwater tank was when we had a die out of all our fish except one lonely Clown fish who was hiding out in the back of the tank behind the live rocks.

Yesterday we shopped for an anemone for this Clown so that he wouldn’t be so lonely and also a starfish and a few snails to clean the tank. So far Clown has not come out to host the anemone. I hope he does soon so that it will survive. The fish is instrumental in feeding the anemone once he hosts it and takes care of it so to speak.

Here are some photos of the new starfish, anemone and snails.

The last photo above shows the starfish as if he is in the throws of death. John was preparing to remove it but I stopped him. I recommended that we wait to see if it will move along. I think it was just getting acclimated to the new water world. They do not travel fast more like at a snail’s pace. Sure enough he did begin to move as you can see in the previous photo.

The snails are bedding down on the sand to suck up all the nutrients that they can find from leftover food. The anemone found a little place where he tucked himself in and looks quite comfortable for now. We are waiting for the Clown to emerge and discover the anemone and host it. In the meantime, John is feeding the invertebrate through a syringe with a mixture of krill and other fish food mixed with water. This should keep it happy until Clown can assist. The clerk in the pet store suggested we do this every few days to keep it sated.

The starfish and snails take care of themselves by eating the algae on the glass and detritus on the bottom of the tank. That is the reason we purchased them to keep the tank clean. The only crustacean that can do a better job is a hermit crab such as our Clarence Henry the Hermit Crab.

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!

Clarence Henry is different from other hermit crabs. He came to his new home minus one claw and a leg. He needs to protect himself until he can grow new appendages. Will Clarence Henry be able to meet the challenges in his new water world? Clarence Henry was a real aquatic hermit crab who lives in a saltwater fish tank in our home. We watched him interact with the other creatures in the tank. He was resilient, intelligent, and a joy to have as a pet. We took some photos of him as he grew his claw and leg and changed shells. We shared these photos and facts about hermit crabs in the back of the book. I hope you will enjoy them. This book will make a wonderful resource for classrooms.

I will keep you informed about the Clown and the anemone. That sounds like the beginning of a story! Haha! Who knows, maybe I will write a story about them.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support.

Memorial Day – A Time to Remember those who Served!

I wrote part of this post for Memorial Day in past posts and thought they said it all for this special day of remembrance.

Copied from FB – perfect for Memorial Day!
Flags at a mailbox noticed on one of my walks @Jemsbooks

Here is a poem from the past. I thought it was appropriate to share it again this year.

Remember

Please remember those who served proudly and bravely for their country so we could be free.

They traveled far and wide.

Served their country with pride.

Walked long distances shoulder to shoulder, side by side.

Obstacles they did encounter and overcome.

To protect those at home.

They gave unselfishly in all their actions.

So many lost their lives.

And have left fatherless children and widowed wives.

Others did go home but suffered from loss of limbs.

Or of mental capacities diminished.

They did all they could doing jobs that could not be finished.

God bless all those who sacrificed so much for all of us so we could be free.

And a very grateful and profound thank you to all who gave their lives so we could live in this beautiful land of endless opportunity.

Our new flag now lit up at night (American Flag is supposed to be lit up at night and taken in during rain.) We don’t take it in during rain but now light it up! Looks beautiful! @Jemsbooks

My father served in World War II as a Marine. I remember how proud he was of his service. He received a Purple Heart after he was injured in combat.

My handsome father @Jemsbooks

Here’s my handsome dad in his Marine uniform above and below proudly marching. I couldn’t edit this photo below for clarity, reason why it is so blurry! I had a studio work on it several years ago but this is the best they could do. I loved that smile! He was a wonderful man and father. He was larger than life in my eyes! He was kind, caring and funny. If I don’t stop talking about him I will be crying all day. Thanks for listening.

@ jemsbooks.com

What I did notice was how difficult it was for my father to talk about what he witnessed while he was in the service during WWII. He never really talked about the events until one day when I was a teenager.

I pushed him that day to talk about his experiences. All he could say was, “This war is something you can never forget. I lost many of my buddies. They were picked off and dropped down right next to me. I was lucky to survive with just a bullet wound.” My father passed away after a wonderful life in 2001. I miss him every day!

A special thanks to all servicemen and women for keeping us safe! God bless and keep safe all who served our nation proudly. For their dedication and sacrifice, I am truly grateful.

Thank you for stopping by to read this post. I appreciate your kind support of me and my books and all the reviews that I receive. Please keep them coming! I hope you will keep coming back for more entertaining reading and events about new works, daily news, birds, fish and other things that pop into my already overcrowded head.

WIP is coming along!

I am trying to put some more time into my WIP after being sick for over a month or so. It took me a longer time to fight this cold and cough. I guess when one gets up in age that is what happens! Sigh!

There will be plenty of action, excitement, adventures, dragons, danger at every turn and more than enough to keep King Gateskin busy trying to protect his family and village and all of Noella Province in the Gateskin Chronicles next installment.

This is Book 1 of a fantasy series that will have six books in all. In this book learn about the three children of King Gateskin and his wife, Queen Solinara. The children have had powers since they were quite young..

Serena was three years old when she learned of her power to move objects with her mind. Her brother, Simon, can fly and their sister, Catalina, can become invisible or blend into her surroundings. They live with their parents in Sovorotskina, the Land of Light.

With these powers comes responsibility. The children must try to use their powers for the common good and responsibly to help others. The three children befriend a Sprite named Spindle who accompanies them on their adventure. Along the way they meet up with their aunt and uncle, their mother’s brother and his wife, Wizard Hotenfaran and Fairy Procelina. The group must travel into the evil land of Parotovina, Land of Darkness, to save King Gateskin, who was kidnapped, and also rescue some of the descendants of their friends and fellow Sovorotskinans who were captured and taken by the Evil Ones. These descendants have been waiting a long time to be free to return to the villages of their ancestors.

The children have many trials and adventures along the way. Will they be able to rescue their father and fellow Sovorotskinans without endangering their own lives? Will the evil King Kaposkaran and his Queen Beregina stop Serena and her siblings from being successful or will they turn Serena and her siblings to their dark ways?

Check out all the books in this series on Amazon and Barnes & Noble soon. I hope to complete this book by June hopefully. But it may go later since I have been sick and have gotten behind schedule. I will work more diligently to catch up with the tough schedule that I always give myself.

I promise to work on audiobooks for all of this series eventually too. I hope you can wait for them but maybe you could begin reading them for now and purchase the audiobooks to enjoy the stories again. LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN AND CONTINUE!

Here are the book trailers to wet your appetite for the adventures and magic of Gateskin Chronicles.

Here are what readers are saying about this series on Amazon.

I hope you are enjoying this series as much as I am creating it. Watch for book 4 coming this summer and LET THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE!

A Silver Medal from Mom’s Choice Awards for JemsBooks!

Silver Medal – Mom’s Choice Awards

I was thrilled to receive a Silver Medal from Mom’s Choice Awards for my latest children’s book, Family and Friends. Thank you, MCA! Below is the link to my book on Mom’s Choice Awards store. This book joins 15 other JemsBooks there. I am humbled and honored. @Momschoiceawards

This is a children’s book with six stories for ages 5-8. Each story is a stand-alone story. Children will read about two little sisters, two young boys, a boy and a toad, rabbits, a bluebird, and a mouse and a piece of cheese.

They are feel-good stories that children will want to read again and again. One story will make children laugh out loud while others will teach them important life lessons about kindness to others, friends and family matter, believe in yourself, and you can do anything if you just try.

I hope your children will enjoy this book of short stories about different animals and want to read them again and again.

Deck is ready – where’s the warm weather?

New England has had some ups and downs with the weather once again. We had a few days of warm weather but now we are in a slump once again with rain off and on and cooler temps.

I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything for a while. I am still recuperating from this awful cough but am getting there and feeling much better and stronger. I have neglected to do much writing but trying to keep up with emails, and household and day-to-day stuff.

The inclement weather did not stop my husband from getting the deck ready. In between the rain on a good day, he put out the furniture and placed flowers pots around to make it as beautiful as he could. I think he did a wonderful job. The last two photos are of me holding my Mother’s Day plant from my son and daughter-in-law and one of the indoor plant from my daughter and family.

Sickness kept us apart on Mother’s Day but I am feeling better and so is my daughter-in-law. We usually go to a brunch at Flag Hill Winery with my son and family. We hope to make it another time. My daughter and granddaughter did stop by the day before Mother’s Day even when I was still not well to deliver the plant. It was nice to see them but I hope I didn’t give them my cold.

I look forward to warmer weather so I can get out on the deck and enjoy the beauty all around us and all the hard work my husband did to make it that way for me. He’s a good man!

I hope you are enjoying some good weather wherever you live. Stop by again soon. I will try to post more about my upcoming book as soon as I put in some more time on it. Now that I am on the mend I will be able to work harder to finish it soon.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Keep reading and reviewing and I will keep writing to entertain you.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

New bookmarks for JemsBooks!

My talented husband, John, just created new bookmarks for JemsBooks! They are similar in color but have more of a variety of books featured. I had these printed by Vistaprint. I think they did a wonderful job and quick too! I would recommend them for cards, bookmarks or any other printed items you need.

Several years ago, I ordered pens and mouse pads with my logo. I still have them. Here is the mouse pad. I have the pen somewhere. Nice, huh?

Here is the old bookmark.

Here is the new one!

If you order any books from me, you receive a free bookmark of your choice – old or new. They are both two-sided bookmarks. One side for Novels and the other for children’s/MG/PT/YA.

I like the new one even more than the old one. Do you?

JemsBooks can be purchased here or on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Click on covers to the right to go directly to Amazon or email me if you would like an autographed book and free bookmark.

Well, I better get back to my WIP. It will not write itself although sometimes I am just the conduit and along for the ride. I do get a workout for my fingers which is good. Happy reading everyone!

Thank you for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please come back again soon. There is always something brewing at JemsBooks!

Branyrd the Angel Book 4 – Mission of Hope is now on Audiobook!

I am happy to announce that I completed the audiobook for Mission of Hope: Branyrd the Angel Series Book 4! It now has three formats to choose from when you want to read. I hope you will enjoy listening to this book about an unforgettable Angel!

Branyrd must face evil on Earth in this latest book. The LORD instructs her to give Hope to the people who are suffering from injustice, persecution, and evil factions that force them from their homes. The Angel must help those who are preyed upon, others who are straying from good, and still others who are lost.

Benedicto, her Guardian Angel, will be her constant companion during this tough mission and support her on her path of leading all peoples to GOD.

This is the last book in this series unless Branyrd chooses to nudge me and share another mission from Heaven. I think this last mission was such a multi-faceted one that she may still be recuperating from it. I know I am! It was difficult keeping up with her and all her spiritual and angelic energy. Sigh!

PROMO BY BMGN

I would love to hear from readers on this! I am looking for more TAGS for this book. Any suggestions what tags to add? I am not satisfied with the ones I have chosen so far. Please help! Thank you.

My next task will be to complete Book 4 of my fantasy series which is coming along but it is an epic project. There will be two more in this series if I can handle them! There is so much happening in this book that I am getting dizzy! I promise to work on all four audiobooks in this series after completion of this book. I took a little time off just to do the Branyrd ones for a break. It was getting intense for me and I needed to do something different. That is why I jump around genres so that I don’t get stale or tired in one genre. I hope you will enjoy all these audiobooks. I would love to hear from you. Keep reading and I will keep creating more stories for your reading pleasure. Happy reading and listening everyone!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please come back again for more books, reviews, author interviews and whatever else pops into my already overcrowded brain.

Branyrd the Angel Series Books 1-3 now on Audiobooks!

I have been busy today working on creating audiobooks for Branyrd the Angel Series Books 1-3. Book 4 will follow soon. The first three books in this series are now on Audiobooks and Audible!

This is not a children’s book. Branyrd is a different kind of angel. She has a difficult time being understood because of her habit of getting into all kinds of trouble and for her unacceptable language. Angels are not supposed to swear.

This angel must earn levels to be accepted by the LORD. She is presently at Angel Fourth Class and must ascend to Angel First Class in order to be given a mission to travel to Earth to help a human in trouble.

Once she reaches Angel First Class, she is given a mission and travels to Earth to help a battered woman and her child. Since she is so new to the ways on Earth, Branyrd is accompanied by her Guardian Angel Benedicto, Angel First Class on High, who guides and advises her.

Soon I will work on Book 4 in this series and complete the audiobook and share it here. Now I have nine out of ten novels in audiobooks for your enjoyment. I hope you will enjoy listening to this series and the inimitable angel, Branyrd.

I will return to my WIP now on my fantasy series which will also be available on audiobooks once I finish writing book 4. I look forward to hearing it myself on audiobooks. Hearing my book on audio is a strange but exhilarating experience. When I created the first one I felt a lump in my throat as I listened and I was hooked to complete more of my books in this format.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Keep reading, listening and reviewing and I will keep writing and creating new stories for your enjoyment.
