We continue to add more fish to our tank to join the starfish and anemone which were added a week ago. They are doing well.
Here are our two new fish – Gramma Basslet and Brown Tang. Even though it is brown, the tang also has a colorful fin and trim in black, blue and yellow. He is beautiful and so is the Gramma Basslet with its rainbow of colors. They brighten up the tank and add some color to the former drabness of it.

We plan to add a few more fish over the next month or so. We have to give each new fish some time to adjust before adding some more. Clown doesn’t seem to be bothered by the new additions since he is completely enamored with the Anemone. It keeps him busy protecting and feeding it to bother with anything else.
We learned at our recent visit to the pet store that Anemones send out pheromones to attract the Clown fish to it and not in reverse. It took a week or so for the Clown to notice the pheromones, but he finally succumbed to them.
I hope you enjoyed my photos and hearing about our latest news about the tank. Stay tuned for more coming over the month.

Updates on our new additions to our fish tank – our Clown fish finally came out of hiding to check out the anemone for the first time, that we noticed. He could have been looking at it during the night.
My husband saw the Clown swimming in and out and around the anemone looking quite pleased that he once again had a friend to keep him company and take care of.
Of course I snapped some photos and a video of Clown enjoying meeting his new friend.
I also snapped the star fish meeting the anemone too and getting to introduce themselves. It was cute to see. I was worried that maybe the starfish might nibble on the arms of the anemone but he didn’t. He stayed there for a little while then moved away.
Here is the anemone eating a cube of food that John managed to push his way.
I hope you enjoyed hearing about the latest adventures in our 95-gallon saltwater tank. There is always something happening.

Recently my friend who does not use a computer or go online with media called me to let me know that she finished my latest book in the Angel series, Mission of Hope: Branyrd the Angel Series.
She wanted me to know how much she enjoyed it so here is her review. Since she cannot post it herself, I am posting it here for her. This is the same friend who I have posted other reviews for on my blog. You may remember them or not. She is now 90 years old. God bless her!
I loved it! I also loved how Branyrd solved all the problems of the world. She gave everyone hope.
Marianne
I should explain a little about how Marianne and I met. She is one of my oldest friends in both cases by age and length of friendship. We lived next door to one another for 13 years. I moved out of state after that, but we always stayed connected.
After my divorce she and her husband (he passed last year) always stayed friends with me and not my ex. That is one thing about divorce, you lose many friends to the ex-spouse at times. I was happy to keep these friends afterward. We often went to lunch as couples with my new husband who they accepted happily. Other times I picked Marianne up and took her to lunch. She never learned how to drive. I have not seen her for several months, but we call each other on occasion. She wanted to go to lunch soon but I am still fighting this cough thing and didn’t want to be around her. At her age I don’t want her to catch anything.
I sent her all the books in the Branyrd series which she has thoroughly enjoyed. One book I dedicated to her late husband and her for their friendship. She was most grateful for that. I feel blessed to have such good friends like her who are kind and caring.
Branyrd must face evil on Earth in this latest book. The LORD instructs her to give Hope to the people who are suffering from injustice, persecution, and evil factions that force them from their homes. The Angel must help those who are preyed upon, others who are straying from good, and still others who are lost.
Benedicto, her Guardian Angel, will be her constant companion during this tough mission and support her on her path of leading all peoples to GOD.
If you haven’t read any of this series, I hope you will check it out soon to experience the mercy, peace, love, and hope that Branyrd gives to others. She may perk up your spirits and give you hope too in your life.

READING GIVES YOU WINGS TO FLY! SOAR WITH JEMSBOOKS ALL YEAR THROUGH! HAPPY READING!
All Young Adults out there need some exciting adventures in reading for summer or any time reading. This YA fantasy series will hopefully have six books in all. The Legend of the Taken Ones (Gateskin Chronicles Book 1) is on Amazon for your reading pleasure along with Books 2 & 3. Book 4 is coming this summer in 2025.
Book 4 is now in creation mode. This may take a little while before I can complete it. But hopefully I will have it all wrapped up by summer or before. Fingers crossed. It is an epic series to write with myriad characters, spells, creatures, places and more.
I have written in many different genres in the past. This is the first series I have written in the fantasy genre. I didn’t realize how involved and complicated a series like this could be. It can be overwhelming at times because of all the characters, creatures, spells, and villages with their rulers of which to keep track. My head is spinning trying to keep it all in place. You will see what I mean when you read Book1. I have provided a list of many of the characters, places, rulers, etc. so you won’t get confused. I hope you will enjoy all the action, adventures and surprises that will keep you turning pages. There are many pages to turn too.
Each book in this series may grow larger than the one previously unless I can rein in the characters and stop them from going on and on. I feel as if I am on a journey along with them. I never know where they are going to take me. The ending is always a surprise to me too. When I go into editing, it is as if I am reading it for the first time since it is all off the cuff. I may have to do some redirecting to get them on track if they go in the wrong direction. As I edit I feeling them whispering, sometimes yelling, into my ears to add this or take out that. It can be daunting! Yikes!
Let the Adventure Begin with Gateskin Chronicles today!
Blurb:
This is Book 1 of a fantasy series that will have six books in all. In this book learn about the three children of King Gateskin and his wife, Queen Solinara. The children have had powers since they were quite young..
Serena was three years old when she learned of her power to move objects with her mind. Her brother, Simon, can fly and their sister, Catalina, can become invisible or blend into her surroundings. They live with their parents in Sovorotskina, the Land of Light.
With these powers comes responsibility. The children must try to use their powers for the common good and responsibly to help others. The three children befriend a Sprite named Spindle who accompanies them on their adventure. Along the way they meet up with their aunt and uncle, their mother’s brother and his wife, Wizard Hotenfaran and Fairy Procelina. The group must travel into the evil land of Parotovina, Land of Darkness, to save King Gateskin, who was kidnapped, and also rescue some of the descendants of their friends and fellow Sovorotskinans who were captured and taken by the Evil Ones. These descendants have been waiting a long time to be free to return to the villages of their ancestors.
The children have many trials and adventures along the way. Will they be able to rescue their father and fellow Sovorotskinans without endangering their own lives? Will the evil King Kaposkaran and his Queen Beregina stop Serena and her siblings from being successful or will they turn Serena and her siblings to their dark ways?
I hope you will enjoy this series and that the characters will come alive for you as much as they have for me. They invade my mind day and night until I complete these stories. May I have the stamina and perseverance to complete it all and survive intact.
Here are the books in the series so far. LET THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE!

READING GIVES YOU WINGS TO FLY! SOAR WITH JEMSBOOKS ALL YEAR THROUGH! HAPPY READING!
Here it is already the end of another month. Where does the time go? I have been busy as usual reading some wonderful books for the month of May of 2025. Here are the 10 books I read and reviewed forMay. I might have read even more if I didn’t have a few WIP. But I always seemed to have a WIP! That fact never stops me! I hope you enjoy reading these reviews.
I love sharing my eclectic reads in this Jemsbooks Segment, Books Read in the Month. I hope you will get a chance to look over these books soon. Thank you for your kind support of my work and that of my fellow authors.
If you are an avid reader, as I am, please review the books you love on Amazon or wherever you purchased them for others to enjoy your reviews. Reviews are one way for readers to know about an exceptional book. We indie authors love to receive reviews and appreciate the efforts of readers to do them. Once again, I thank you for your kind support of me and my books and for supporting my fellow authors too.
When I wrote these reviews I rated them on Amazon, Goodreads and sometimes Barnes & Noble. I did not include the ratings here though. It is best to share my thoughts with you about how I felt about the book without the rating. Ratings can be deceiving at times.
We all feel differently about books. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we like them and still other times we may dislike a book. Some other books are so memorable they take our breaths away! While still others are sweet, sensitive, and enjoyable reads that we soon will forget. But all these books I have reviewed were lovely reads as you can see from my reviews. I hope you enjoy my reviews and that they will help you to decide what will be your next read.
Comfort & Joy is a moving, magical story of one woman, Joy Faith Candellaro. Joy is injured in a plane crash when she tries to escape her life that is falling apart. She divorces her husband after he falls in love with her sister. All she wants to do is leave and begin a new life.
What happens afterward is surprising and unexplainable. This book was a quick read but thoroughly enjoyable. I did not want it to end.
Kristin Hannah created a beautiful written story that makes one believe that anything is possible.
Cold Justice is the first book in this mystery, suspense, thriller series that is gripping and end-of-the-seat action-packed. The main protagonist, FBI Agent Carly Phoenix is good at here job but her tendency to go overboard with enthusiasm and verve gets her demoted to the Cold Case Division.
This division seems to fit her well since she is tenacious with her first case and will not back down until she solves it. She wants to see those responsible put to justice and give the long bereaving families some relief. This particular case is a murder of a young and successful woman. When Carly delves deeper into the evidence she discovers more murders that could be committed by the same perpetrator. She becomes supercharged and continues to push herself until she finds some surprising similarities that even her supervisor cannot ignore.
This was a thrilling beginning to this unputdownable series with an intriguing main protagonist. I look forward to more in this series from this talented author.
The Color of Hope, book 3, is a moving and unforgettable story in the Color of Heaven Series. This story involves a successful lawyer with a perfect life. Diana Moore has everything anyone could possible want but something is missing in her life. She has a handsome and rich boyfriend and all is going well and leading up to what she thinks she needs – a husband and eventually children. But something happens to change all that.
Diana discovers that she has a doppelgänger and vies to meet this woman to discover who she is. When she does, her life takes an unexpected turn and not all positive. Can she trust this woman? Is she her twin? How could this happen that her adopted parents did not know about this second baby? Would they have adopted her too? Diana has so many questions but feels compelled to aid this woman who has had a tragic upbringing, not as gifted as she had been in her life.
This was an emotional and heartfelt read with so many tragedies that kept befalling one woman. I found myself trying to cheer both women on as they struggled to find peace and love in their lives. This is part of a wonderful series of stories by this creative writer that will touch you and break your heart. Once I catch my breath and stop the tears, I will reach for the next book in the series.
Loss, Life, and Puffins is a memorable and touching story about the coming of age of two teens. Gabriel is almost eighteen while Ru is thirteen. They are both unhappy in their lives and feel something is missing. They are drawn together when Ru, who is a genius, enlists in a university and stays in Gabriel’s home with his mother. They develop a strong friendship and find that they have more in common than they thought possible.
After Ru’s mother dies from lung cancer she feels a need to make a list of what she would like to do before she has to go live with her ill tempered aunt. Gabriel agrees to go along with Ru and drive them wherever they need to go in order to complete their to-do lists.
They develop a close friendship and don’t want to be separated once they trip is over but life has a way of doing what you least desire. Ru does all she can to keep in contact with Gabriel in spite of his mother’s refusal to allow them to connect. She continues with her degree with a four-year scholarship without assistance from her aunt while she waits for Gabriel to contact her.
This story was an enjoyable, unusual and refreshing read.
The Destination book 3 of the Harbor Pointe Series is an intriguing read filled with paranormal suspense about two young women, Sandy and Lacey, who visit this unique old inn for a get-a-way. Sandy is engaged to be married but is not sure of what her heart wants to do. She is heading toward being an accountant but her dream is to become a marine biologist. Lacey tries to convince her to follow her dream.
The women meet two men at this inn. Lacey becomes enamored with one of the men while Sandy stays clear of the other man because of his odd ways. When Lacey disappears overnight, Sandy searches for her but finds that strange things are afoot along with a ghostly presence.
A quick and enjoyable addition to this series that features all stories around this quaint inn with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean that left me wanting more. I look forward to the next book in this series. It was clever to have a series written by different talented and creative authors to showcase their different writing styles.
The Edge of Too Late is the fifth book in the Harbor Pointe Series. This series has been thoroughly enjoyable featuring a different author for each book.
This story was gripping with its mystery and paranormal components which held my interest throughout. Brandon takes his girlfriend, Angi, to this quaint inn with the intention of proposing to her. Some unexpected things happen preventing him from asking her to marry him. Angi is hesitant about marrying again since her first marriage was a disaster. Will they have a chance at happiness?
There are a variety of interesting characters who keep the mystery intense. This was a book that I could not put down by this talented author.
The Seas of Time: Harbor Pointe Series Book 4 is full of fantasy, time travel, voodoo magic, and social issues with the quaint backdrop of the Harbor Pointe Inn along the Pacific Ocean. Each book in this series is different from the others in that they are written by different authors and are in eclectic genres.
This tale is told in two timelines, 1858 and 1972, through the eyes of a young woman, Tali. There are plenty of adventures between the two timelines that test Tali.
She leaves school to take some time to think over what she would do with her future and takes on the job of caretaker of her aunt’s and uncle’s inn while they go on vacation during the renovations of the inn. What she finds there is anything but a relaxed atmosphere that she was hoping would be conducive to painting and thinking about her future.
When she finds a bible with odd incantations, she reads it out loud and strange things begin to happen in the cottage she is staying in. She finds herself with a monster who invades her space and eats all her food. She tries to find out where it came from and why it is there. This is just the beginning of her surprising adventures.
This was another enjoyable book in this series. I look forward to more in this intriguing and cleverly written series by some talented and creatives authors.
To Die For is full of action, suspense and danger as the body count rises. The 6:20 Man is at it again in this new thriller.
No one can do a thriller justice like Baldacci! This book kept me glued to my seat and staying up late into the night to read until I couldn’t see the words anymore. There was so much action in this book that I can see it on the big screen as an award-winning, money-making movie.
There are good guys and bad guys and some who are in between that kept me guessing which side they were on. That is how this author keeps readers coming back for more. Danger against the government is what the main protagonist is searching for and doesn’t give up even when his life is on the line again and again. Those who want him killed do their best while others who see him for the man he is turn to his side and assist him in his quest for justice.
I highly recommend this book for those thriller-seekers who want a memorable read!
The Color of a Dream is book 4 in this Color of Heaven Series. It is touching, emotional and heartfelt collections of stories involving different couples who are connected in different ways. Each story is about one couple and their lives, loves and heartaches.
This story is about Nadia who has been unlucky all her life. Each time she tries to rise up something in life knocks her down again. She was separated at birth from her twin sister and didn’t meet her until many years later. She had a setback after having a virus which affected her heart enough to warrant a heart transplant. She managed to deliver her baby before her transplant and had the support of her twin sister, Diana, which was a Godsend. She finally felt as if her life would be better until her former boyfriend, father of her child, threatens to take his daughter away from her mother. Can Nadia survive another setback? Will she be able to win custody of her daughter? Will the brother of her former boyfriend come to her rescue?
This was an enjoyable and heart wrenching read. I look forward to more in this memorable series.
The Color of a Memory is book 5 in the Color of Heaven Series. This is heartfelt read involving families and all the issues they have to overcome. This story is about Audrey and Alex and their love story, their highs and lows of marriage.
Audrey, an ER nurse, meets an injured firefighter one day in the emergency room who pursues her relentlessly until she accepts his invitation of a date. They are smitten with each other early on in their courtship and soon are married once she finds herself pregnant. After their first child is born things are different in that Alex becomes introspective. Audrey suspects something is wrong and maybe he has a wandering eye as he was known to have when he was single. She finds something to make her ponder more on this and is determined to find out if he was unfaithful to her.
This is another enjoyable, emotional read about a family with unsuspecting connections to others in the series. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. I hope you enjoyed my reviews and will check out all these interesting reads. Please keep reading and reviewing authors’ books to help spread word about their work. We authors appreciate your efforts to do this.

READING GIVES YOU WINGS TO FLY! SOAR WITH JEMSBOOKS ALL YEAR THROUGH! HAPPY READING!
Before you know it, children will be out of school for the summer. Have you stocked up your library for your little ones this summer? It’s important to keep young children busy reading and out of trouble. Sometimes they get bored and look for things to do that will cause problems for you. Right?
I remember the days when my two children were little. We visited the library a couple times a week to stock up with books to read to keep them occupied. I didn’t want them to watch too much TV. Back then we didn’t have all the devices or technology that we do today to entice children away from reading. You know which ones I am talking about. Too many young children are also using iPhones now.
Recently when I was in the supermarket I noticed children fussing and parents handing them their cell phones to keep them occupied. I shake my head and sigh when I see this. These children are just too young to be given these phones. Why not hand them a book to look at with colorful illustrations?
That is why I write for children – to engage them, open their minds to creativity, increase their vocabulary, encourage then to love books, and to help them feel better physically, mentally and socially. Parents need to read to experience these same things.
Of course, all my children’s carry important life lessons and good family values. These life lessons are what parents want their children to learn early and often. Don’t you agree? If you have read any of my children’s books you will agree how valuable these lessons are.
I am a lover of reading and have been since I was quite young. Before I could read my mother gave me a coloring book and crayons and I created my own stories with my crayons and my imagination. It helped spark my creativity for which I am thankful today. I did the same with my own children.
Reading is important not only to keep your children’s reading levels up all year long but also it can increase their vocabulary, spark their creativity, enhance their health and wellbeing, and encourage them to become lovers of books. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers who will become successful and confident adults one day.
Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and wellbeing and encourage them to love reading. I hope you will encourage your children to read daily and maybe take some time out of your busy schedule to read too. Read a book together when you find the time. It is more rewarding that way all the way up to middle-graders. I did just that. There come a time when my son said he did not want me to read any more of his books. Sigh! I still read them but didn’t tell him until afterward. We did discuss some of them and he smiled at me and sighed. One day he said, ‘Okay, you can read my books, Mom, just don’t tell anyone that you did, especially my friends!’
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Keep reading and I will keep writing to provide you and your children with entertaining reading. Happy reading everyone! Please remember to review books for all the hard-working authors out there. We will love you for your efforts!

I walked around our yard today and snapped some photos of the lovely bushes that were blooming. We have had days and days of rainy and cooler temps lately. Today it was a lovely, warm day in the 70’s F. It was so nice to sit out on the deck and enjoy the sun and warm air. The flowers are happy too for some sun. They have been drenched.
Here are my photos. I hope they bring a little of joy and beauty into your life. They did that for me. The first group were all the bushes around our yard. The next set is from our back deck and the next are closeups of some of the flowers. I always love to snap these because you can see the beauty closeups and personal.

Here is a cute little chipmunk peeking out of our drain pipe. He heard me coming and raced inside to hide. Once I was quiet he peeked out to see if I was still there and then raced away when he spotted me.
Our pond is greening up now and the red-winged blackbirds are nesting there. I snapped a photo of one on our feeders. They stay in or around the ponds to nest and we see them balancing on the reeds and swaying to and fro in the wind.
When his wings are opened you can see more of the color of red and white inside. They are beautiful and make a funny sound when they are around. They are tenacious about keeping their nests protected from larger birds especially hawks. We have witnessed one or more of these birds chasing after a hawk who tried to steal one of their eggs or chicks from the pond. It is comical to witness how fearless they are when it comes to protecting their young.
I hope my photos brightened your day and brought some joy your way! It is always nice to see you. Come back again soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your continued support.
