Here it is already the end of another month. Where does the time go? I have been busy as usual reading some wonderful books for the month of July of 2025. Here are the 8 books I read and reviewed for July. I might have read even more if I didn’t have a few WIP. But I always seemed to have a WIP! That fact never stops me! I hope you enjoy reading these reviews.

When I wrote these reviews I rated them on Amazon, Goodreads and sometimes Barnes & Noble. I did not include the ratings here though. It is best to share my thoughts with you about how I felt about the book without the rating. Ratings can be deceiving at times.

We all feel differently about books. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we like them and still other times we may dislike a book. Some other books are so memorable they take our breaths away! While still others are sweet, sensitive, and enjoyable reads that we soon will forget. But all these books I have reviewed were lovely reads as you can see from my reviews. I hope you enjoy my reviews and that they will help you to decide what will be your next read.

The 7 She Saw was a gripping murder mystery that has many twists and turns with a strong protagonist, Blake Wilder, who must take on a horrendous case of multiple murders. She deals with her own demons in the past that she has not come to terms with or solved.

This is the first book in this series. The author has written other books in this series of mysteries that are gripping with this same character who must deal with tough cases, gripping mysteries, and difficult decisions she must make to solve them.

The Perfect Wife is book 2 in this thriller, mystery series of FBI Special Agent Blake Wilder. This character is a strong and a ‘no holds barred’ type of personality. She has no fear of taking on the toughest of cases and will stop at nothing to see the perpetrator pay for his/her crimes.

This was a non-stop action type of mystery, suspense and crime series that kept me on the edge of my seat. There was plenty of joviality mixed in with the characters who were eclectic and fascinating as they tackled each job that was given to them. Blake Wilder was in charge of this group of talented agents who had to get used to each other and learn how to work together. Astra Russo was one of these agents that Blake had chosen to be in her task force. Astra just happens to be her best friend and most trusted ally.

The way the characters bounced off of one another and shared a camaraderie gave a special touch to the story and made the reader feel a kinship to them all as the group did what they had to do to solve the horrendous crimes. This was a most enjoyable and well written series that I would highly recommend to all mystery readers. I look forward to the next book in this wonderful series by such a talented author.

The Art of Starting Over is a beautiful love story with two lost souls who come together once again to reunite and rekindle their love. The two lovers are both suffering from a loss and return home to family and friends to recharge and heal.

Hayden’s wife has died leaving him and his son feeling lost while Devorah’s husband cheated on her with her best friend. When these two main characters meet again they are drawn together like magnets and can’t pull away.

This is a lovely story of how family, friends and home can provide healing and comfort to those who need it. It has varied and interesting characters and a tender and emotional story line to keep the reader engaged.

I look forward to more books by this author.

Stranger in the Woods is a gripping and emotional mystery thriller. There were plenty of unusual characters, suspects, and surprising incidents happening.

This was an unputdownable read that I continued to read well into the night waiting for the next thing to happen. Just when I thought it was safe to put it down and go to sleep, something else came about leading me to read some more. The ending was a surprise and shocking when all the evidence was revealed about a death and what had transpired leading up to it.

An intriguing and enjoyable story by this author. I plan to check out more of her books.

Her Second Death is a quick and intriguing read. The main protagonist, Bree Taggert, is a fascinating character who has some demons from her own past to conquer. These demons help her to understand what others are going through but also continue to haunt her every day.

This is a quick case involving a murdered man and a missing child. Bree does everything she can to solve this case with the help of her new partner. What she finds is unexpected.

The character, Bree Taggert, is a memorable character that keeps the story interesting.

There’s Something About Mira is a tender, moving story of two souls who are lost but don’t know it about they find each other and two other souls who never give up finding one another against all odds.

Mira has everything she needs in life, so she thinks, until a trip to New York brings unexpected events that change her life. It involves a lost ring, a love story, and a man who discovers a heartbreaking story about the ring.

I don’t want to give anything away except that this story was memorable and heartbreaking at the same time. I wanted it to continue. It took me to a place where love finds a way into your heart even if life gets in the way.

I highly recommend!

The Fall Risk is an enjoyable short story with the frightening prospect of being targeted by an unstable person.

The main protagonists, well defined and interesting, keep the story flowing as a couple more characters are added. It’s an intriguing situation being trapped in an upper level apartment without any way to get down and out of the building.

The author builds the relationship between the two characters and quickly we see they grow closer as the person who has been targeting the women emerges.

I wanted the story to continue but enjoyed the ending.

Name Not Taken is a psychological suspense that kept me guessing whether the main character was losing her mind or was being driven that way. The two main protagonists, Devon and Richard, are engaged to be married and happily looking forward to their life together until Richard brings Devon home to his parents. This is when strange things begin to happen that disturb Devon and make her feel ostracized from Richard’s family.

This was a disturbing drama with many dysfunctional characters. Devon is already having a difficult time with her upbringing and an alcoholic mother that this family puts her in an even more unstable frame of mind.

The author kept the mystery moving forward until the ending where she does explain some of what was really happening.
