Charlie Kirk – Rest In Peace!

I don’t like to talk about politics but I must say something about this recent assassination of this man. We have all heard about him and how much he was loved by so many. Evidently, there was one person who did not love him. Sad to say, he took Charlie’s life for whatever reason. The man responsible for taking Charlie’s life has been caught and is in custody. May justice serve to right this wrong.

LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 20: Charlie Kirk speaks onstage at Politicon 2018 at Los Angeles Convention Center on October 20, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Michael S. Schwartz/Getty Images)

There is never a reason to snuff out someone’s life! No arguments, or disagreements warrant taking a man’s life! I cried for him and his family, so young and beautiful! He had so much to give this world. Now he is gone.

Please pray for his family and put all your political feelings aside and see that this was a human being like any one of us. He had so much to do in his life but now cannot.

Please pray that our world will not condone this violence. It will be stopped! It must be stopped!

Remember, we are all the same no matter what color, race, creed or religion or political offiliation. We are all humans trying to do our best in this world. At times it is not easy. Let’s get along and love one another as we should. Forgive those who wrong you, be kind to all. Let’s do all we can to make a difference in this troubled world.

Thank you for listening. It has been a difficult time especially since we just had 911 to remember and prayed for those who lost their lives and for the ones who were left behind to grieve. Now we grieve once more for Charlie and his family.

May God bless you and keep you and your families safe. Amen.

Thank you for listening.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

The next WIP is already in progress. I have completed the first chapter and will get back to it soon. Since this series is epic with the amount of characters, places, creatures, magic and adventures, it won’t be published until sometime next year possibly March or April. The last book in the series will be published, hopefully later in 2026. If my characters need to continue to share their stories with me, I may write more books in this fantasy series.

LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN! Grab your copies of this unforgettable and adventure-filled series today!

Pray for the Families of the Victims of 911! WE WILL NEVER FORGET – AMERICA STRONG!

I have shared this post each year since 2001 of a day that I will never forget along with many others who witnessed this horrific event. It is one of the worst and most frightening things that I remember in my lifetime. The others were the Kennedy assassinations of JFK and RFK.

The Twin Towers on 9/10/01

I found this photo on my phone from 2001 of the Twin Towers the day before they went down.

It has been 24 years since this horrific day! We will never forget those who lost their lives.

The following is an account of how this attack unfolded from NBC.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed when al-Qaida hijackers crashed four jetliners into the twin towers, the Pentagon and a field in southwest Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001.

Here is an outline of the primary events that transpired, starting with the first plane hitting the North Tower, according to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

8:46 a.m.

Five hijackers crash American Airlines Flight 11 into floors 93 through 99 of the North Tower. The 76 passengers and 11 crew members on board and hundreds inside the building die instantly. Hundreds of people are trapped above the 91st floor because the crash severs all three emergency stairwells.

8:50 a.m.

Then President George W. Bush is informed of the plane crash as he sits in a Florida elementary school classroom. He and his advisers assume it is an accident.

8:59 a.m.

The Port Authority orders the evacuation of both towers. A minute later, they evacuate the entire World Trade Center complex.

9:03 a.m.

Five hijackers crash United Airlines Flight 175 into floors 77 through 85 of the South Tower, killing the 51 passengers and nine crew members onboard the aircraft and an unknown number of people inside the building. Many were trapped in elevators or on floors above the impact zone. People are seen jumping to their deaths from the towers.

At this point, the estimated death count is 50 to more than 200.

The NYPD calls for a second Level 4 mobilization.

This was a post I wrote in 2020 that I wanted to share once again.

This day 9/11 will be forever emblazoned on my mind as a horrendous day that I will never forget. So many lives were lost that affected many families and left our nation in devastation. Through it all WE ROSE UP STRONGER THAN EVER! We stand tall and will forever remember those brave first responders who were there and later lost their own lives saving others. Please pray for all those who lost loved ones that fateful day.

Many were not even born and don’t know what this nation went through then but only by seeing this 911 presentation on TV each anniversary. I pray that this generation and others that follow will never have to suffer through something like this.

Some raced toward the danger while others escaped. True bravery displayed by our men in uniform – police, firefighters and other first responders! Thank God for them! (Photo from Fox News 2020)

It has now been 19 years! It still feels like it was yesterday. I remember where I was and the shock we all felt. It will never go away but we are healing and stronger.

This is a post below that I wrote in 2019. What else can I say other than God Bless all who were affected by this tragedy – which is all of us!! WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

911 site 2019 in place of Twin Towers Photo from TV FOX NEWS

It is hard to believe that it has been 18 years since that tragic day in American history! Everyone remembers where they were when the Twin Towers were hit. It is a day that no one will ever forget. It changed us all but only made America stronger and bonded us together.

Photos from TV – FOX NEWS

Please take a moment out of your busy day to say a prayer for those who suffered and lost loved ones.

Happy fish in our tank!

All our new fish are doing well adjusting to their new waterworld and getting along with the other fish. It’s wonderful to see how well they are all doing. I don’t want to jinx myself by saying this though.

Here are some photos of them swimming around.

Above is the Hippo Tang or Dori from the Nemo Movie. She was hiding inside the rocks for a few days and finally came out to swim around for a change. I think she is feeling safe and at home at last. It’s nice to see. I hope you enjoyed these photos.

WIP is in editing stages!

Watch for my newest book coming in September. It is still in the editing stages as my content editor, John, continues to look it over. I have made some adjustments and additions to make each story better after my other beta readers read it through.

I have already read it several times but will continue to read it a couple more times until I feel that it is ready to publish.

I love the new cover created by my husband. I hope you do too.

If you love eclectic short stories, you will love this collection. I have another one for you to read while you wait for this one to be published – An Angel Among Us. If you haven’t read this collection, grab your copy today for a multi-genre ride. This collection received a 5 star review from Readers’ Favorite Book Awards.

This is a collection of short stories that covers several genres including romance, grief/loss, mystery, suspense, sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal. This book is dedicated to a courageous friend who passed this year. The first story is specially created for her and is the inspiration for the title of this book.

A lovely new review of Clarence Henry the Hermit Crab!

I MUST, I MUST

September 5, 2025

What a charming picture book based on a true story that teaches valuable life lessons. Clarence Henry is a hermit crab that once lived in the author’s aquarium. He is missing a claw and a leg, so Clarence is aware that the other creatures in his habitat view him differently. That does not keep him from dedication to his duty. Clarence understands that it is his duty to keep the aquarium clean and safe for his fellow inhabitants. Every day, Clarence performs his duty faithfully until one day he grows too large for his shell. Clarence knows it is time for him to molt. After his owners provide a new shell, Clarence begins the process of adjusting to his new home. A pleasant surprise awaits him! Young readers learn about devotion to duty, perseverance, and resilience. They become aware that a disability can be a strength, not a handicap. Charming illustrations enhance the story. A wonderful bonus feature at the end of the tale teaches children about the fascinating lives of hermit crabs. I highly recommend the book to parents and teachers, both as an enchanting tale and an informative lesson about life as a hermit crab.View this book’s reviews on Amazon

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!

Clarence Henry is different from other hermit crabs. He came to his new home minus one claw and a leg. He needs to protect himself until he can grow new appendages. Will Clarence Henry be able to meet the challenges in his new water world? Clarence Henry was a real aquatic hermit crab who lives in a saltwater fish tank in our home. We watched him interact with the other creatures in the tank. He was resilient, intelligent, and a joy to have as a pet. We took some photos of him as he grew his claw and leg and changed shells. We shared these photos and facts about hermit crabs in the back of the book. I hope you will enjoy them. This book will make a wonderful resource for classrooms.

This book was fun to create especially since Clarence Henry was a real hermit crab and a pet in our fish tank. He did his job, was fascinating to watch in action and was quite a character. It was amazing to see him cast off his old shell and grow a new one while he hid inside his shell. We also got to see his claw and leg grow back. That was something that I will never forget. When we brought him home we did not know at first that he had lost a claw and leg. The appendages actually grew quicker than I expected. The photo on the front of the book shows his right claw is much smaller than the left because it is just beginning to grow.

There are photos in the back of the book showing Clarence Henry in action, going in and out of his shells, and cleaning the tank. He was a memorable and loved pet. We miss him! We have not been able to find another crab his size.

I hope if you haven’t already introduced your kids to Clarence Henry that you will soon. They will love him and enjoy reading about his perservance, determination and tenacity. They will learn important life lessons about never giving up no matter what life throws your way.

A day full of flowers – summer beauty!

Summer is quickly flying by. My husband and I took a walk on this beautiful summer day. It was warmer than we thought, but we managed to do a mile abefore returning home.

We walked all around our home and the pond behind our house. I took some photos to share to show you how far away our house looked from the other side of the pond.

Our community recently cleared the brush in and around the pond. It was cluttered with bittersweet that kept coming back and trying to take over all our trees.

This year we planted another Rose of Sharon bush in the center island outside our house. It is already flowering as you can see in the middle photo below. It will grow large and fill in the area beautifully!

The above photos of the bird houses show evidence of the destruction that squirrels can cause when they are hungry. They thought there was food inside there. They certainly don’t eat baby birds unless they ate the eggs.

The rabbits were plentiful this year because the feral cat we had in the neighborhood died. They are procreating like crazy now. But since the pond was cleared out, we don’t see them anymore. There is no place there to hide. Even the groundhog left to find a better home.We miss them but not all the bittersweet that was growing all around our yard.

I wrote a story for children in one of my Bedtime Stories for Children Series that talks about this invasive vine – bittersweet and how it can be curtailed or completely eradicated. I mentioned this solution to my community board president but he just smiled and nodded at me. I guess he didn’t take me seriously. If you would like to know about this solution, please check out my children series today. Here is the book with the story in it. I think you and your children will enjoy this series. It is informative, educational, and fun with six animal stories that will fascinate children ages PS-Grade 3. It has chapters for each story.

MOM’S CHOICE AWARDS SILVER MEDAL WINNER!

The Bedtime Stories series is here once again with six more fun and entertaining stories for children ages 5-8. In this book children will read about a dragonfly, a goat, a candle, a chicken and a rooster, a boy and a pelican and a fish, and a starfish.

Each story carries important life lessons such as helping others in need, being kind to others, it’s okay to be different, family matters more than riches or being famous, friends are important, and be the best you can be.

This is an award-winning series with four MOM’S CHOICE AWARDS – SILVER MEDALS! Recommended by MomsChoiceAwards.

I hope you have enjoyed my photos of all the flowers and animals around my home. I hope you will come back again. There is always some new at JemsBooks!

A new cover for my new short story collection!

After looking over the cover I shared recently for my newest short story collection, John and I decided not to use it. I liked it but it did not sufficiently display what I wanted to about the book. Here is the new version which I think is a lot better. I hope you like it too!

We used a free photo from Pixaby online – the wishing well. Thank you, Pixaby! The rainbow is from my own photo recently. This was all put together by John to create this lovely cover.

Watch for this book coming soon!

If you want to read another short story collection, please check out AN ANGEL AMONG US. It has recently received a 5 Star Review from Readers’ Favorite Book Awards.

A collection of short stories that covers several genres including romance, grief/loss, mystery, suspense, sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal. This book is dedicated to a courageous friend who passed away this year. (The year I wrote the book). The first story is specially created for her and is the inspiration for the title of this book.

This collection is also eclectic with each story ending in a surprise way. Though I have thought about continuing with some of the stories to make them into full novels, I have since given up that idea. They are better the way they are to keep the reader guessing and filling in what they think would be an ending or a continuation of the story.

If you like to read short stories when you don’t have time to dedicate yourself to a full novel, then these stories are perfect for you. You can read one at a time or all at bedtime or anytime. Happy Reading!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please review books that you love or not for all the hard-working authors out there who will welcome and appreciate your efforts to help promote and spread word about their work. I know I appreciate every one of your reviews.
