The first book I published was about a baby elephant, Louey the Lazy Elephant. I love elephants, expecially babies. They are so sweet and comical just like children.

The drawings are done in crayon reminiscent of when children first started using coloring books. My husband did these drawings. It was the first time he became my illustrator. He has always wanted to redo the book with modern drawings but I won’t let him. It is perfect the way it is. I love Louey just this way and so have many of my readers.
