A sad day in the fish tank!

I am saddened about what happened in our fish tank today! John and I had been out on errands and a doctor appointment. When we returned home, we found our beautiful Brown Tang stuck on the fan that circulates the water in the tank.

He was still breathing heavily and struggling to get off but was held tight by the water. John quickly used a tool to free the fish. We watched in horror as it struggled to swim but couldn’t get his equilibrium to fly straight. He struggled and settled down behind the rocks. We thought he was going to die there.

We couldn’t watch him die like that and felt helpless to do anything other than put some Stress Coat in the water to calm him. A brief time later we returned to find him inside the anemone, being digested, much to our shock. Yikes!

We don’t know how the Tang got inside since the anemone doesn’t move much. We figured that the fish must have died and floated nearby and down into the arms of the anemone. It was too sad to watch.

Here is a photo of him healthy even if it was only for a short time. So far, the Gramma Basslet is swimming around. He must be wondering where his friend disappeared.

My husband is quite upset but will purchase some more fish soon. I don’t want to do that just yet but I know the tank looks extra empty now. Sigh!

Thank you for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please come back again. I hope I will have good news about more fish and a healthy tank.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

How very sad. We never had any luck with Tangs. They are so pretty but probably do better in the wild.

How horrifying and sad, Janice. Your poor husband, too. But that is life, unfortunately. I am sad for you.

Oh, that is so sad. I know, it’s like losing a dog or cat. Just the same. But you tried everything. Have a blessed day
