I can feel it in the air and see it as the grass struggles to grow strong roots and green up. The trees are working on their buds and spores that can cause havoc on those who have allergies. Bushes are stretching out limbs and pushing out some signs of growth.
I love the seasons as they change. They bring a new feeling of hope and good things to come. Do you love spring? Maybe you are fortunate to live in a place that has spring or summer all the time. You are truly blessed with whatever climate you live.
Here is a poem I wrote in 2008 that I wanted to share again.
SPRING
by
Janice Spina
What does spring mean to me?
It is an awakening of nature to be all that it can be.
The ground lays dormant all through the winter weather so cold
And down under the ground grows the roots of new grass we are told.
At the first sign of warm weather the crocuses will pop through
opening their faces to the bright sun and sky serenely blue.
The trees will soon send out their lifeblood from their roots
And before our very eyes can detect new buds will then shoot.
Soon the birds and bees will have arrived
to explore after a cold winter that they somehow survived.
There is a flutter of activity from every hole in the ground
as the chipmunks and groundhogs and other rodents stick their heads out for a look around.
It makes me feel alive once again
and know that it is time, my friends
for cleaning and carting away
all the things that clutter the house and the yard this fine spring day.
Just as nature prepares ahead for the mild weather days,
we should get ready to give thanks for yet another lovely spring
God has sent our way.

Did you know that spring is a perfect time to catch up on your reading and preparing for what books you will need for the summer. JemsBooks has 48 books now and more coming! Of course I will showcase one in particular that is perfect for your children for spring and Easter.
Lamby is a very different lamb because of his color. He is lonely and only wants to be accepted by the other lambs. Find out what lesson Lamby learns when a little girl, Leah, comes to the farm where Lamby lives.
This story will teach children to be kind to others who are different and that all colors are beautiful!
This book won my first book award – Mom’s Choice Awards – Silver Medal! I remember the day that I received it! I got so excited that I shared it with everyone. It was just too incredible to believe that I a novice author had won an award. I still get excited when I win an award but not as crazy as that first one. I am grateful for every honor that I receive no matter how small it may be.
This book was dedicated to my granddaughter, Leah, who had a lamby and loved it dearly carrying it around with her everywhere she went. I purchased a second one just in case she lost the first. It didn’t fool her though. When the first one got dirty my daughter would wash it and bring out the second one. Leah knew right away that it wasn’t her original lamby. She gave the second a name but it never took the place of the first. I wonder where Lamby is now? I should ask her. She is now 15 and smart and beautiful! I am so proud of her as I am of all five of my precious grandchildren.
Here are what others are saying about Lamby.

Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and wellbeing and encourage them to love reading. The gift of a book is worth more than gold to our children, grandchildren. Keep reading and gifting books to children. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers. Thank you for your support!
I feel pure joy writing for children and hope with God’s help and blessing to continue to write many more fun adventures for children to read and enjoy. I do enjoy writing for MG/PT/YA and 18+ too!
