Do you love before and after photos? I do. I love shows that have before and after scenes like in home network shows. But these are too difficult to look at. Check them out!
I had to share these shocking photos of my hibiscus plant that my husband finally pruned or should I say attacked! Look at these photos and you will see what I mean. That is why I did not let him near my plant until it had stopped flowering. Sigh!
The first three photos are of how the plant looked when it was outside.

The above photos are how he pruned this same plant in two years. I think he loves to torture this poor plant from year to year. It has lived for 18 years now despite all the pruning he has done. It’s amazing that it is so resilient! I would never let him cut my hair!!
The pruning in 2023 shows that it began to grow quickly and fill out. The second photo is still newly trimmed so that it hasn’t begun to fill out yet. I hope it does. Poor baby!
John has been known to prune plants even shorter. I was not around at the time he attacked this plant so I couldn’t save it in time. I think it will come back or at least I hope so! Fingers crossed. It is a beautiful plant as you can see above when it is outside and flowering! When it is inside the flowers are a paler color of salmon than when it is outside. I guess the sun helps to brighten the color.

Well, I guess I better watch John more closely when he prunes (attacks) my plant. Sigh!
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Come back again real soon. You are always welcome!

That’s one determined plant! 18 years is quite a longevity.
It is tenacious to outlast all the cuttings!! 😂
My husband is the same. Having said that, hibiscus do need to be trimmed back and it may be because of his ruthless trimming, that I has lasted so long. (Don’t tell him I said that)
😂 I won’t!
Hibiscuses are tough! I brought my lemon tree in in late October. It bloomed for three months, then lost all its leaves, which is normal. My office looks bleak – a lemon tree with no leaves and two small roses with nothing (I am trying to revive them for my daughter). Spring will solve everything!
Absolutely spring will make it bloom again. My son has a lemon tree that has given him fruit inside and out. Better though outside. 🍋
Yup, this is an outside tree since it dropped all its leaves.
🥺 it will come back when outside again.
