Winding down after vacation! Back to reality!

Each year we take this three-week vacation to Aruba. I’m exhausted for a week after we return. This year we got sick from all the stress of a delayed flight. We had to leave our room at the resort at 10:00 am and our flight was not until 5:55 pm which had already been changed from 3:30 pm. Since we couldn’t stay in Aruba until closer to our flight, we decided to go directly to the airport. They require you to arrive at the airport three to four hours ahead of time to process the volume of people who leave on a Saturday. Our wait would be more like six hours.

This is where it gets dicey! Our plane was once again delayed until 7:00 pm and then again until 9:30 pm. Our flight home was four and a half hours’ long, making our arrival at 2:30 am.

We are still tired and out of sorts with stomach issues and headaches from lack of sleep. We are trying to catch up. All in all the vacation was wonderful with minor snags in our room which was being renovated and not ready for us to move in. We were given another room which was comparable and very nice. We eventually moved into the new room the third week. It was beautiful with a few issues that they took care of quickly enough.

We may run into issues again next year when our first week’s room will be renovated and probably not ready for us to move in. They will have to provide a comparable room for us in another part of the resort.

I shared so many photos with you already and I am sure that you are tired of seeing more. Well, I hope you don’t mind that I share a few more from our last day.

Although we love to visit Aruba each year and see all the familiar faces, it is always good to be home! There is no place on Earth I would rather be than my home especially for the holidays. I feel blessed to be able to travel and hope that we will be able to visit our favorite home away from home many more times.

Well, now it’s back to WIP and getting it published. I hope to have it ready for publication this month. I took a long break while in Aruba and only answered and cleaned out emails, wrote a few posts and enjoyed my vacation away from my WIP.

I hope you enjoyed reading my posts and seeing my many photos of this lovely little island paradise. Thank you for stopping by and for your continued support.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Rest up, Janice. What a nightmare getting home! I usually need a week to get myself rested and organized mentally after a great vacation – thanks for sharing it with us!
