Aruba vacation is winding down!

Sad to say, but all good things must come to an end. I knew it wouldn’t last forever – this vacation – but feel sad to see that it is almost over. We have had a wonderful time with our yearly vacation friends, delicious food, warm water to swim and soak in and beautiful sandy beaches to walk.

We will return home with fond memories until we can make more next year and the years after. This is our favorite vacation spot and hope to continue to travel here for several more years, God willing. We usually walk miles a day but with back issues we have not be able to do as much walking this year. We still accrued 8K to 12K a day just swimming and walking back and forth to our rooms.

This year our resort is in deep renovations of many of the rooms. This forced us to have to move twice instead of just once. Our room in the tower was available the first week but the other two rooms we have in another area called the villas was being renovated and wasn’t ready for us until the last week of our stay. We are hoping that things will be completed next year in the tower rooms. The new villa rooms are lovely and almost all the little quirks are being ironed out.

Here are some more photos of different restaurants, foods, waiters, entertainers, and us. I may have to stop eating so I can lose some weight!

All in all it was a wonderful vacation but not over yet. I may share some more photos before we leave here. If you haven’t visited Aruba you must come some time and see for yourself how wonderful it is.

The people are friendly, accommodating and kind. I have to share one kindness that really touched me. I was upset when we had to move again when our room wasn’t ready due to the renovations. One woman, who was at the Concierge desk, noticed how upset I was and called me over the next day. She handed me a lovely pair of earrings as a gift. I was astonished by her generosity. They are lovely. I tried to pay her for them but she refused. I had to gift her something in return so I told her that I would put her in my next book and also I plan to dedicate it to all the lovely people in Aruba who have been so kind and caring to us for many years. They even comped us for the disruption in our vacation. I am truly thankful for their kindnesses. Check out the photo below of John and I and my lovely earring.
