Children’s books about my pets!

All my children’s books are about animals as you can see but some are about pets I have had. Here are the books I wrote about previous pets I have. I wanted to keep their memories alive in books for all to enjoy.

MOM’S CHOICE AWARD – SILVER MEDAL WINNER!

This book is based on my dog, Lucy, who I had for 16 years. She was quite a character and did all the things that are in this book. She loved my spaghetti with homemade sauce, watched TV shows featuring animals, hated baths, “sang” when music was played, and had two cherished possessions, a knotted rag and a ball. I hope you will enjoy reading about Lucy. She is no longer with us and can never be replaced.

I wrote Lucy’s book to remember her fondly, for she was my best friend during a difficult time in my life. She listened to my problems and would lick my face as the tears fell. She never complained and followed me around like a shadow. She always kept me upbeat and smiling when she was sitting on my lap. I miss her to this day.

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!

Colby is one of a litter of four kittens. The kittens get into all kinds of trouble. Being the biggest and strongest, Colby’s mother expects him to watch over the smaller kittens and keep them safe. Read and find out what Colby does to meet his mother’s expectations.

I wrote about Colby who was my daughter’s cat before she went off to college. He was an outdoor cat who had a mind of his own. He only came home when he needed some love and a meal that he couldn’t catch himself. He is missed by all.

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!

Jerry is a crabby crayfish who all day long wishes he could be a fish. One day something happens in the fish tank that makes Jerry change his mind. Read about the valuable lesson Jerry learns.

I wrote about Jerry who really was a crabby crayfish in a fish tank in our home. My grandchildren loved watching Jerry in action in the tank and often tapped on the glass. This upset Jerry and he would tap back at them in warning to stop. He also waved his claws at them to show them his displeasure. He is greatly missed for he was so entertaining.

PINNACLE BOOK ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER!

Clarence Henry is different from other hermit crabs. He came to his new home minus one claw and a leg. He needs to protect himself until he can grow new appendages. Will Clarence Henry be able to meet the challenges in his new water world? Clarence Henry was a real aquatic hermit crab who lives in a saltwater fish tank in our home. We watched him interact with the other creatures in the tank. He was resilient, intelligent, and a joy to have as a pet. We took some photos of him as he grew his claw and leg and changed shells. We shared these photos and facts about hermit crabs in the back of the book. I hope you will enjoy them. This book will make a wonderful resource for classrooms.

I wrote this book about Clarence Henry who was a pet in a fish tank in our home. He was a valuable asset to our fish tank for the exceptional job he did as a cleaner. We have had other crabs but he was the most efficient at his job. We miss him and could really use him now in our tank.

Here are some reviews from happy readers on Amazon.

If your children have a pet I think they will enjoy these books and learn valuable life lessons and good family values.

Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and wellbeing and encourage them to love reading. The gift of a book is worth more than gold to our children, grandchildren. Keep reading and gifting books to children. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers. Thank you for your support!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Feel free to come back again soon for more books, reviews and whatever else pops into my overcrowded head.
