Another Snowstorm in New England! Birds are hungry!

I woke up this morning 1/16/24 to snow, snow and more snow. It is expected to continue snowing all day. I love it as long as I don’t have to go out or drive in it.

At breakfast I snapped all these photos of the hungry, cold birds who were vying for a chance to snatch some dried worms in our bluebird feeder. The bluebirds are comical critters. They get along well but can be vocal to each other if one pushes too much to get the worms. I chuckled at the shenanigans of these beautiful birds. They actually fit three birds inside this little feeder while another complained on the outside as he waited for a chance to have a tasty worm.

These photos below show sparrows feeding in the bluebird feeder. They are not as patient and will not allow a fellow sparrow to share the feeding as the bluebirds did. There was also a gorgeous cardinal who was at another feeder. He was quite prominent against the snow.

I never tire of watching them in action. The birds are also at our fountain that is heated. They love it and jump right in to warm up. Here is a photo below of three birds (two bluebirds and one cardinal) drinking from it. They almost appear to be talking to each other.

I got a photo in action with the cardinal flying right out of it after taking a dip. But unfortunately the action is not available to feature here.

I hope you enjoyed my photos as much as I did taking them. Although I do not take part in feeding these birds I do thoroughly revel in watching them in action.

If you are in this snowstorm I hope you are staying safe and warm. Enjoy!

Snowing here in Utah again today. I slipped on some ice yesterday, smashed my nose and forehead, so today I have a black eye and three stitches – I am not pretty!

    But the snow is lovely!

OMG! I hope you are okay! Ice can be treacherous. That is why I stay in when it is snowing or really cold. I have a fear of falling and doing what you did. Take care and take it easy, my friend. ❤️😱🙏 Enjoy the snow!?⛄️

I’m staying inside today with the kiddies – my grandson is here with his parents and I’m enjoying my granddaughter, who is a pistol. Aspirin will help the headache and I’ ve got makeup on the black eye so as not to scare the kids. Enjoy the snow, I will stand outside and enjoy the quiet.

Sounds good, Noelle. Stay safe. Enjoy your grandkids. They are precious and may help you forget about the pain, a little. Take care, my friend! Hugs xx ❤️
