Today I am showcasing my children’s book, Lucy the Talented Toy Terrier. Lucy was a toy terrier mix that I loved for 16 years. She did all the things that I mention in this book and was quite talented in her own way. She never did sit when told to, or stop barking when she got annoying, or come when commanded. She did what she wanted in her own time and way. That was Lucy, but she was adorable, sweet, loving, kind and attentive to me when I needed a friend.
MOM’S CHOICE AWARD – SILVER MEDAL WINNER!
This book is based on my dog, Lucy, who I had for 16 years. She was quite a character and did all the things that are in this book. She loved my spaghetti with homemade sauce, watched TV shows featuring animals, hated baths, “sang” when music was played, and had two cherished possessions, a knotted rag and a ball. I hope you will enjoy reading about Lucy. She is no longer with us and can never be replaced.
If you have ever had a dog you will know how wonderful it is. They are your best friend and companion in good times and bad. They never judge you and always give their love unconditionally. You know dog spelled backwards is God. Looking into the eyes of a loving pet is like looking at God. Lucy saved me during a difficult time in my life and I will always be grateful for her love and support. I miss her terribly still! I did have other dogs after her but none compared to her in the same way. She and I bonded like she was my first child. Sigh!

Here are some reviews from happy readers.

Although I do not have a dog at the moment I have had the urge to buy one as I get older. I miss the unconditional love that Lucy once gave me without any judgements. Dogs give you such joy and help you when times get tough by just being there. They keep you sane, healthier and happy. My husband and I will probably get one once we stop traveling. I do not want to put a pet into a kennel while I go away. That’s not fair. I do not have any family without dogs to care for one. I hope if you have a pet that you appreciate all that they give to you without anything in return.
If you haven’t brought Lucy home to your children, it’s a good time to do that now so that they will appreciate the love that dogs give us. It may teach them to be kind to animals at the same time, and that’s a good thing.

Dogs certainly keep you sane. Lucy sounds a lot like my Lyra, who is quite wilful and independent, but also very loving and so much fun! I’m all for books that help children appreciate animals.
Thank you, Annabelle! Dogs are like little angels flitting through our lives much too fleetingly. ❤️🐕🐶🐾🥺
Yes, their lives are too short. xx ❤
