Cold Weather is here! Time to Crochet Again!

Brr! New England is in a cold spell. Temperatures are dropping at night into the low twenties! I added more blankets and Afghans to our bed and may add another if it keeps getting colder. We always keep our temperature down in the house and get under the covers to get warm. I can’t sleep if it is too hot.

This year since the Patriots are playing so poorly, I could not put my Patriots Afghan on the bed as usual, instead using another one I had made in the past. It is as pretty but I do miss my red/white/blue of the Pats one. Sigh! We need Brady!!!!

The Patriot’s Afghan below was created by a pattern I made with my husband’s help on graph paper. I once made a Red Sox one too with someone else’s pattern which is no longer available. I have been asked to give my pattern away. I cannot do that. It is not something I can sell or pass on since the Patriot’s team patterns it. I could get sued. I use it solely for our own enjoyment and warmth. It isn’t something I would want to take on again. It was quite a feat, something I am proud of and look at it in wonder at how I ever did it!

Here are many other things I crocheted over the past couple of years. Last year I crocheted nine Afghans and at least a dozen pillows, this year I only made seven Afghans and some pillows, and two baby sweater sets with Afghans. I plan to make more afghans this winter. It keeps me warm as I crochet and my hands busy. Many of these were gifts for Christmas in the past or for new babies.

I always have more projects to do. It is something I love to do whether I watch TV or not at night. There isn’t always something that I am interested in there.

What do you do in your spare time or TV time? Do you make gifts for Christmas or other occasions?

When I am not crocheting, I am either writing, blogging, promoting, or reading. My life is full of plenty to do and to be thankful for.

I hope you fill your life with things you love to do, eat, or experience and feel fulfilled and thankful too. Don’t forget books make perfect gifts too if you do not sew, crochet or knit. Click on covers to the right of this post for purchase. Happy shopping!
