Hummingbirds are leaving soon!

It’s so sad to say that the beautiful and incredible hummingbirds that we see each day lately are getting ready to leave on their long trek south. They are seen often tanking up at all of our feeders. I have captured a few photos and a video to share with you. In the third photo I captured another visitor in the background – a turkey.

This little fellow stayed here a long time as I tried to keep my distance while filming this video. He did keep looking up at me, not sure of what danger I could be to him. Each of these photos were of a different bird. They do all look similar though. I didn’t see an emerald or ruby throated one at this feeder but they were at the other three on our back deck. This little feeder is on my kitchen window over the sink. It is a joy to see them as I wash dishes each day, but soon they will be gone. It is a sure sign when they come so often and stay a long time to drink in this precious liquid to store energy for their long trip.

Here are some photos of the other feeders on the back deck.

Each season I thoroughly enjoy watching these beautiful little creatures flit and fly around our area. It is a sad day to see them leave but leave they must to survive.

Here is a link to learn more about hummingbird migration.

I hope you enjoy my photos and video of these magnificent little birds and come back again soon for more posts about all kinds of things.

Thank you for stopping by to read this post.

Yes, I do feel blessed. I have conversations with them at my kitchen window. They are getting used to me being there and appear to be listening. Haha! 🥰

My house sitter says ours are still around, but the temps are still in the 90s!
