This summer has been hot and wet with more rain than sun. Plants and flowers are not doing as well as in previous years. By this time last year we had many more buds and blossoms. Here are some photos to compare. The six photos below are of 2023 blossoms. Only two bushes are flowering normally, the rest are behind.

The following photos are of 2022, 2021 and 2020 Rose of Sharon bushes which were flowering profusely around the same time in these months as this year. The weather in past summers was much sunnier and not as rainy. Though our flowers need the rain they also need the sun as we do!

I’ll be keeping a close watch on these bushes with hopes that they will bloom soon as in the past. It is breathtaking to see them when they are all full of flowers in different colors from white to pink to lilac.
I hope my photos have perked up your spirits today as they have for me. We all need something to enjoy that is beautiful in our lives each day. It’s better to look at these flowers than watching TV which has become depressing with so much violence and tragedy. Wishing all my readers a lovely and peaceful day, today and every day. God bless.

You should have lots of butterflies!
I noticed a few flying around but can’t see the bushes unless I go outside. That’s where the butterflies will be but not from my windows. I love to see them! Beautiful!
Our bushes are out of sight down the hill – Gene planted them on community land (in the dead of night) on the edge of some woods!
Nice! They will multiply and spread around.
Yours get big. Ours never make it over two feet tall.
They are beginning to look like trees! We have to cut them down quite a bit but they always come back strong! Thanks for stopping by! 😀
