An Interview with a Preteen Reader/Fan!

I was pleased to hear from a preteen reader/fan of mine who would like to share her thoughts about my books in an interview. This is a new Segment of Jemsbooks.com – Interview a Reader/Fan!

I am always thrilled to hear from readers/fans about my books. Some readers/fans are not old enough to post their reviews on Amazon. That is why I am offering those young readers a chance to voice their opinions of my books here. Parents: Contact me on my email listed below in closing if you have a MG/PT who would like to appear in an interview on my blog.

Today I want to introduce this lovely young lady – Aria (no last names or photos will be used here unless given permission by parent/guardian). Aria was kind enough, with her mother’s permission, to provide a photo of herself.

Aria

jjspina: Hi, Aria!

Aria: Hi! Thank you for having me on your blog.

jjspina: It’s a pleasure to have you here. I would like to ask you a few questions, if I may. How old are you and what grade are you going into?

Aria: I am twelve, going into seventh grade.

jjspina: What genre do you like to read?

Aria: That depends on the author. I like scary books by Alan Gratz and fiction from you and JK Rowling and a lot of other people.

jjspina: Wow! I feel honored to be grouped with these authors, Aria! Thank you so much! What did you enjoy about my Abby & Holly Series Book 1 and 2?

Aria: In book 1 I liked how they helped the ghost. In book 2 I liked how they tried to help Holly’s mom.

jjspina: How many books do you read in a year?

Aria: I try to read five and work my way up to read more every year.

jjspina: Good for you! Keep going! What would you like me to write next, a middle-grade series, a preteen series or a young adult series?

Aria: Preteen series

jjspina: If you had to do a review about Abby & Holly, what would you say?

Aria: I would say that it was a great series and that it really talks about real things that happen in our world with some fun fiction to make it more interesting and exciting.

jjspina: Thank you so much. I’m happy to see that you understand what I am trying to say in my books. Is there anything you would like to share about reading, genres, age groups, etc.?

Aria: Reading is fun! I like to read mysteries, fiction, and I’m also trying to write my own story.

jjspina: That is wonderful, Aria! You appear to be a lovely, poised, and creative person who will succeed in whatever she endeavors to do in the future. I noticed you have a beautiful crown in your photo. Would you like to share something about that and what you like to do in your spare time?

Aria: I was a Miss NH Princess and I like to dance, write and play with Penny, my cat.

jjspina: Well, congratulations! That is quite an honor! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions and for being so sweet to come here today. It was a sincere pleasure to have you on my blog to share your thoughts with me and my readers. I will be sending you Book 3 of Abby & Holly as a ‘thank you’ and hopefully, with your parents’ permission, have you on my blog again to share your thoughts about this book. Happy Reading! I look forward to talking to you again, Aria.

Aria: Thank you so much, Mrs. Spina!

jjspina: My pleasure, Aria.

Here are the books in Abby & Holly Series in case your MG/PT are interested in reading them.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post! Come back again for more posts that will be about books, interviews, reading, publishing, or anything else that pops into my overcrowded head!

Remember: Parents/Guardians: If you have a MG/PT who would like to be on my blog to share their thoughts about any of my books that they read, I would love to hear from you in an email. Put in Subject Line: MG/PT Interview. I will review your requests and get back to you. A free book will be given to participants for a limited time. (USA only)

What a special young girl! Lovely interview. You’re going to have to wait a few years to interview Eli – he is just getting over the shock of going to preschool!

Nathan said he didn’t even get a hug yesterday – Eli was off and running!
