Vegetables and Flowers are doing well in all this rain!

I was surprised that our flowers and vegetables weren’t flooded out yet with all the rain we have been having. Looks like they love the rain more than I do.

Here are some photos of our tomatoes, zucchini and flowers on our back deck. See how much the zucchini has grown since the first photo on the right? The leaves are huge and so are the flowers. Zucchinis are sprouting out of the base of the flowers profusely. Can’t wait to cook and bake some!

Many tomatoes will come from the flowers, which are many!
Tomato plant given to us by my brother

Here are the petunias on the hanging planter with hummingbirds feeding off of the flowers. I took this through our screen door since I could not go out or I would have frightened the bird away. Sigh!

A Hummingbird can be seen in the right photo at the left top corner of the flowers. There is one in the second photo too but now I can’t find it now. See if you can. It is emerald green. It blends into the green of the stems of the flowers.

It’s amazing that all these plants have not drowned yet. We had a couple of days of sun and warmer weather but more rain is coming. check out the basil in the last two photos before all the rain and then after.

I will share my zucchini and tomatoes when they arrive and some recipes to go along with them. Check out my recipes at Janice’s Kitchen Corner.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued kind support. Come back again!

We have had two very hot days in the 90’s and watering our plants once again. Rain will return though.

We just hope for thunderstorms every evening!

I’ll send some your way. We had two hot days and from tomorrow on there will be thunderstorms every day throughout the days and nights.

Thanks! I could do with a little less heat. I am NOT a summer person! June, July, August, and half of September are my least liked times of the year, which is why we had for Maine in August!

I am with you on that. I love Maine too! But we do go to Aruba in October where it is hot but with a nice breeze and lovely water to cool off. I don’t know how long we will be going there though. A lot of the friends we made are dying off or no longer going. We are down to just a few there now that we see. I am a fall and spring person myself. I love the fall best of all! Hope to see you in August for a visit here. It will be fun to meet face to face. Stay as cool as you can.

I’ll see where we are on our drive to Maine – Gene doesn’t like going far out of his way (stubborn). Tell me again where you are?
