Reading some old classics on my kindle!

Have you read Anne of Green Gables? I read it a long time ago in school but had forgotten how enjoyable though verbose it was. We watched the show, Anne with an E, on Netflix recently and enjoyed it so much that I purchased an e-book on my kindle to read it again. I will feature my review on my June 2023 reads and reviews soon.

If you go online to Amazon you will notice there are many different versions of this classic, too numerous to mention here with different covers. I picked up a different cover from this one above for free. They keep changing covers on the free one too.

The TV version is close to the book and was fabulously done by the young actress who had many lines to memorize, too difficult to even fathom since Anne talks non-stop throughout the story. It was quite entertaining to watch Anne in action though after reading the book. I am still not finished reading it this time but will soon since it is a short book. There are several more books in this set that continue the story of Anne as she grows up through all her trials and tribulations. She is a hearty soul with a kind heart and staunch beliefs.

If you haven’t read this book, please check it out soon for an enjoyable journey through the eyes of this precocious young girl. She will make you see the world in a different way.

I also purchased the book, Secret Garden, which I don’t remember ever reading. I thought it was time to go back and read some of the classics to see how they wrote, thought and processed life. It was all in a different time and place than we are at now but I know I will learn something new. Have you read this book?

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued kind support. Come back again soon for more news about upcoming books, reviews, and whatever else pops into my rattled brain.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite books from my youth. Also liked Nancy Drew, the Narnia Chronicles, too many!

Anne of Green Gables is my favourite character of all time. I reread the book often and read it to young people in my life. I was lucky to visit Prince Edward Island last fall and the house that the story was based on. I also visited Lucy Maude Montgomery’s grave and thanked her for giving us such wonderful books. (yes, I’ve read them all)
