Working on Book 2 of Hunting Mariah!

I have been working on the sequel to Hunting Mariah! It has been a few years since I published the first book. That book was written nearly twenty years ago and sat on a back burner until I was ready to edit it and bear my soul with its content. It is a thriller/suspense/serial crime and not the kind of book I would be expected to write as a writer of childrens’ and young adults’ books. I think I shocked a few people.

Well, it was shocking to me too. Some people ask me why I wrote it and where the idea came from. I was in a bad place at the time – many things going on in my life. We all have ups and downs in our lives and happy and sad times. It was during a sad time that I began to write a story about a teenager who was being hunted.

At the time my son was in college and I had heard about a rape on campus. It frightened me especially since my daughter would be going to college once my son was finished. Some of this angst became part of my story. Writing it gave me nightmares for I wrote it through the mind of the killer.

If you have read Hunting Mariah please do not give away the ending. I would like all readers to enjoy it.

Recently I re-edited and published it with a new cover. The cover model is my niece who was Miss New Hampshire, USA, in 2009. She is a beautiful, sweet and wonderful young lady. I was thrilled when she agreed to be on the cover. I think she looks perfect as Mariah! She is intriguing and mysterious.

The sequel will be Mariah’s Revenge, and will pick up where the first book left off. If you haven’t read Hunting Mariah yet, please read it before you read the sequel.

I hadn’t planned on writing a sequel. I changed my mind when a friend, Lorraine, I met while on vacation in Aruba, asked me repeatedly each year to write another book about these characters, I finally relented. I hope to complete book 2 before the end of this year.

Go to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Create Space or other online stores like Walmart.com and Sears.com to purchase. As always I love to receive your feedback and reviews where you purchased the book.

Stay tuned for more books coming this year and in 2018 and 2019 and beyond! My husband is working on a new children’s book about a hermit crab. I am excited about this book and believe it will be as popular as Jerry the Crabby Crayfish which is our most popular book of the nine children’s books. I plan to put in some extra photos in the back of the book and more material about the hermit crab called Clarence Henry. It will be a wonderful book for schools to use in science class. We hope to have this book out before Christmas also.

Just a reminder: I will be in Methuen, Massachusetts on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 9-3 at a book signing at St. Lucy Church Sodality Craft Fair. I hope you will be able to stop by. I will sign books whether you purchase that day or prior online. Looking forward to meeting and greeting anyone who comes.

Thank you for stopping by and for your continued support!
