A New Review of Historical Fiction/Romance, Lubelia Alycea!

I am thrilled to receive another wonderful review of my newest novel, Lubelia Alycea, an historical fiction/romance. It is a joyful feeling to see that a reader enjoyed my book. I feel vindicated and encouraged to write some more. Thank you, Mike, for the beautiful review!

Blurb:

Lubelia Alycea leaves her native country of Madeira, Portugal to travel to her new home – America.

This is the story of how a strong, resilient young girl grows into a formidable woman. She must survive many tragedies in her lifetime, separation from family, sickness, death, betrayal, and a lost love. Will she find happiness and a new love in her life?

Will she be strong enough to face the storms ahead and still keep her family together? Will the secrets in her life destroy her and all that she holds dear?

If you haven’t read this book yet, I hope you will check it out soon. It was dedicated to the memory of my grandmother who lived for 100 years. She was strong, stubborn, cantankerous and determined to make a life for her and her family in the new homeland of America. My Avoa (grandmother) was all these things and more.

I created a fictitious story about a woman of her time. My grandmother did share a lot of her life with me but I chose to mix things up a bit and embellish most of it for my readers. Many members of my family may find that their personalities are used in this story. It is easier to write about something or someone you know than not. I had fun writing this novel, creating scenarios that I hope will grip the reader and cause them to feel empathy and sympathy for Lubelia Alycea as she struggles to make a life for her family in spite of all the strife she encounters.

This is my first historical novel. I am an eclectic writer who loves to change things up each time I begin a new WIP. My next work is a YA fantasy that will be a series of 6 books. After that I plan to write a mystery series involving the character, Mariah, in her own series.
