A Trip To Lovely Vermont!

We recently took a three-day trip to lovely Vermont with our good friends, Jim and Fran. It was perfect weather for leaf peeping. The colors were beginning to brighten up even more as we left. Seeing the beautiful foliage wasn’t our main reason to visit this quaint area – Quechee Gorge. It was seeing the Gorge, visiting two farms, Billings Marsh Rockefeller Mansion and Vins Raptor – Bird Sanctuary.

This was a beautiful and relaxing trip that I will treasure with all the memories of fun times with friends. Please peruse my photos and take a trip with me to beautiful Vermont!

This photo shows the color as it was beginning to pop out. I’m sure it is even more beautiful now, a week later.

We had a lovely tour of this beautiful mansion in photos above and below.

Above is only one quarter of the front porch which wraps around most of the mansion. It is a cozy and comfortable-looking place to sit and read a book and enjoy the surrounding landscape.

Another enjoyable trip was to the Simon Pearce Glass Factory and Restaurant with the beautiful covered bridge and waterfall below. We visited the factory and watched the workers create incredible glass shapes. We had a delicious dinner while looking over the falls from our table.

On our last day in Vermont we stopped at Vins Raptor Sanctuary for a show and a walk-thru of all the birds (injured and recuperating) in the cages and a small museum of dinosaurs explaining how modern-day birds are their descendants. The sad thing was that all the birds housed here are unable to be released back into the wild because of their injuries even if they do recover. They will not be able to fend for themselves and live safely on their own.

Thank you for stopping by to read about my recent trip. I hope you enjoyed my photos and got a taste of how lovely Vermont is. I find this state to be similar to my home state of New Hampshire with the beautiful foliage, farms and landscapes.

I wish you a wonderful day wherever you live. God Bless you!

The house looks beautiful. I would have chosen the halibut. That dinosaur fossil does look scary. You certainly packed a lot into your visit. That is a part of the USA I would visit if I was coming over.

  3. Awesome pictures. Lovely each one is. Too good.

The BEST place to visit this time of year. Our color here is really late, if it will come at all. We’ve had a drought here and a lot of leaves are falling, just brown.

  5. I’m glad you had such a wonderful time!

You packed a lot in just three days! The foliage is beautiful and I enjoyed visiting the mansion with you. Love and hugs.

  7. Glad to hear you visited Vermont, Janice! Sounds like you were in my neck of the woods.:) You came just in time. The trees will be stripped bare up here within the next week or two . . . Mike

It’s a lovely state to visit and very similar to my state of New Hampshire. Yes, the trees are changing quickly and dropping their leaves and not giving us much time to enjoy their splendid colors. 🍁🍂😀

  8. Thanks for taking us along! 🙂 Lovely photos… xo
