New Reviews of Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Book 6, The Case of the Mystery of the Bells!

I was thrilled to receive my first reviews of Book 6, The Case of the Mystery of the Bells, Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series!

This series has been a joy to write. I feel like a kid again as I create the dialogue for each story. These books carry important life lessons that I hope will teach children of all ages the importance of being kind, caring and compassionate to one another, being respective of parents, elders and each other, bullying will never be accepted or tolerated, family and friends are important, loving one another, and accepting differences in others.

My children’s and MG/PT will never have any profanity or any situations that will make parents uncomfortable. They are good wholesome books. What are your children reading today? Check out all Davey & Derek’s books in this series to see for yourself – fun adventures in reading with mysteries, ghosts, magic, and family interactions for all ages with the twin detectives, Davey and Derek Donato!

Here are my reviews on Amazon:

5.0 out of 5 starsI love the way the author portrayed the love and concern between the brothers.April 30, 2019Format: Kindle EditionI’ve read every book in the Davey & Derek Junior Detectives series and enjoyed each one. The Case of the Mystery of the Bells is my favorite so far. As with all of Janice Spina’s children’s books, this book teaches children positive values. The twins are always respectful to others and use good manners. One of the things that stood out for me in book 6 is when Davey had a bad dream, Derek jumped right in and offered his brother reassurance and then fixed him a cup of hot cocoa to calm him down. They always have each other’s back and are friends as much as twin brothers.
The boys Great Aunt Gigi, as we learn from earlier books, has special powers that Laura, Davey and Derek’s mother has inherited to some degree, but Davey and Derek to a much greater degree. The boys are learning how to handle these powers in a positive way and never misuse them. Aunt Gigi is their tutor in these mystical matters.
The characters are depicted in a way that makes them believable, including their powers. I especially love reading about Aunt Gigi. I can picture her greeting the children and inviting them in while bestowing her love upon them as she provides wonderful snacks and mystical experiences.
In Book 6 of the series we are introduced to Aunt Gigi’s twin sister Auriana and various other relatives from the realm of magic.
If you have middle grade children, I highly recommend this and any of the other books in the series, as well as those in the new Abby & Holly series. I can’t say enough about Janice Spina and her books.
As a Beta reader for Janice Spina, I was given an ARC by the author to read and comment back to her. I have voluntarily reviewed this book without compensation. The thoughts presented in this review are my honest evaluation of the book.

Sarah1235.0 out of 5 starsFun reading continues with Davey & Derek Newest Case!May 5, 2019In her newest installment in the fabulous Middle-Grade/Preteen award-winning series, “The Case of the Mystery of the Bells: Davey & Derek Junior Detectives, Book 6”, Mrs. Janice Spina continues to entertain her sure to be growing audience of young readers. In this volume, the author introduces new characters to the ever-expanding cast and sets Derek & Davey, the twelve-year-old twin detectives, on a journey to solve the mystery of ringing bells. The writing is lovely and engaging and keeps one turning the pages in delightful anticipation.
The relationship between the two brothers and the twosome’s respectful interaction with their mom Laura and aunt Gigi add much value to these books, as the boys’ comportment makes them excellent role-models to their growing fan base of middle-class readers.
Excellent art enhances the reading experience. Kudos to illustrator Mr. Jonn Spina!
