Goals for 2018 for Jemsbooks!

HAPPY 2018!

This year in 2018 my goals will be high as in the past. I find that if I give myself a challenge I will try to rise up to it! I feel most people, if given a lofty goal, will do their best to reach it!

In 2017 I gave myself a Goodreads Challenge to read and review 110 books. It was a difficult one to reach but I did my best and completed 105 books and reviewed them on Goodreads, Amazon and Barnes & Noble!

In 2017 I gave myself a goal to write and publish 5 books. I completed 3 books plus a new edition of my first novel which almost counts for another book since it was a time-consuming task.

In 2018 my goals are:

Read and Review 90 books

Write and Publish 5 books

Help my fellow authors by interviews and guest posts on my blog

Give away more books from my blog contests

The books I plan to write and publish this year will be:

Sequel to Hunting Mariah

New Children’s book about a hermit crab

Books 1 & 2 of MG/PT/YA Mystery series for girls

Book 6 of Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series

Books I have on the back burner to edit and publish:

Historical Novel

Fairy Tale

Book 1 of YA Fantasy (Series will probably be published in 2019 & beyond)

Children’s book about a dog

Being an indie author I wear many hats: writer, author, publisher, promoter, marketer, blogger, editor and supporter of other authors.

Sometimes these positions become all encompassing, taxing, and overwhelming for one person to complete successfully. I have had to lean on many of my wonderful friends online to bolster me up by their kindnesses in spreading the word about my books through re-blogs and sharing on social media. For all that they do, I am truly grateful.

Here are many of them listed below. I promise to continue to support all of you in 2018!

Thank you online friends

Whatever I do in 2018 I will enjoy writing and publishing as many books as I possibly can.

I will continue to write children’s stories in rhyme with life lessons that encourage children to be kind to others, respect elders and each other, listen to your parents, accept differences in others, not to be lazy, and not to accept bullying.

I will continue to encourage parents to read to their children daily.

I will continue to welcome hearing from readers and supporters about my books.

I will continue to LOVE receiving reviews! LOL!

Thank you for stopping by and for your kind support. Stay strong, stay positive and stay well, my friends!

REMEMBER: READING GIVES YOU WINGS TO FLY! SOAR THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WITH JEMSBOOKS.COM.

Please be kind to an author by reading and reviewing his/her books! We will love you for it!

Blessings & hugs throughout 2018!

Happy New Year and lots of luck in reaching your goals.

  3. Great goals! Good luck with them, and well done with what you achieved in 2017!

When you have a new book release – especially if it’s a book for children – give me a shout and I’ll put something up for you. I can’t promise I can match the exact date of publication, but I’ll do my best to get it as close as possible (to increase the chances of this, the more notice you can give, the better).

Janice, wow!! I’m in awe of your goals and good luck with them!! You have formidable energy and I look forward to reading your reviews, posts and books! 😀

Thank you, Annika! I put my goals high to get myself energized. We never know how many years we will have left to be productive. I need to do as much as I can to make up for the time I didn’t produce. Even though I have been writing since a child I did not begin publishing until 2013 – that’s only going on five years in July of this year. I hope to have 40 books published before I leave this world. Thanks for your support! 🤗

Janice, I love your plan of forty books!!! Wow!!! 😀😀 What a wonderful goal and best of luck to you…I can sense you energy and passion through your comment. How true we never know how long we have on this earth. We are still reeling in shock as yesterday we learnt that my son’s best friends father died suddenly…unbelievable and it feels so unreal. His father was a lovely gentle guy and he was so close to his son. You just never know.

Sorry to hear that, Annika. We lost my uncle and an old friend of my mother’s. Life is too short for some. It’s always difficult whenever we lose someone no matter what age. 💕

  5. Publishing 5 books is a tough goal, Janice. Lots of hard work. Wishing you a wonderful 2018 and the achievement of your goals to the extent possible.

Holy moly Janice. How on earth did you have time to write so many books and read 105?????? I thought I was a robot! You are unreal. Don’t forget to take a pause and breathe my busy friend. And good for you! Happy New Year Janice. ❤ xx
