Hi fellow authors!
I recently received a message from a lady, Angie Smith, who is looking for books up to grade six level for special needs children. She is the secretary of Twin Lakes Civitan, a non-profit organization that helps people of all ages who are in need of assistance. Above is their adorable snake reading a book and below their logo!
Angie asked me if I could spread the word about this organization and help in some way to obtain the much needed books for their special needs children to get them up to their reading levels. I told her I would be happy to send some of my books to her. All most authors want in return is a review. This she said she would make sure is done for anyone who donates a book or books.
Please visit their website and you will see the good things that they do to help others unselfishly. If you can donate a book or two or more please contact Angie at the email or phone number below.

Thank you for whatever you can do to help. It would be appreciated and at the same time you would make some children smile! That alone is well worth sending along a few books. I plan to do just that.
REMEMBER: READING GIVES YOU WINGS TO FLY!
IT ALSO MAKES YOUR HEART SOAR TO HELP A CHILD!
Blessings to all!

UPDATE: I just heard from Angie and she was thrilled to see the post! I told her I would be sending a copy of each of my books this week in between the snowstorms, that is! She promises to review all books. She cannot promise to send photos of the kids with books because of HIPPA laws. But I suggested having the children write reviews of books that they read and send along to authors. Hope my fellow authors will be able to send along a book or two too. Thank you all! There will be some very happy children who are reading up to their levels soon! xo
Here is the new link to their website. All authors who have promised to donate are listed here. Check it out. http://www.twinlakescivitan.weebly.com/
3/1/16 New Update! Angie reported 30 books have been sent by authors! Thank you, my author friends, for your kindness and generosity! I plan to do this post yearly for as long as Angie’s kids need me! Xo

This is a wonderful chance to make a difference in a child’s life!
Yes, it is! Thank you for stopping by! 😊
Good cause. And, if children’s authors wouldn’t support this, who would? I’ll be sending “Real Grands: From A to Z, Everything a Grandparent Can Be.” I figure, if nothing else, it would open a terrific lesson about people these kids love… their grandparents!
That’s great, Debby. Send an email to Angie Smith so she can be on the lookout for it. She will also add your name to the list of donations. Thank you for your kind support. 😄
I’m in if they still want books. 😀 xx
Great, just send an email to Angie Smith to let her know along with your link to your website. Thank you!! 😄

Thank you for sharing! 😊
The perfect project would be to break the children into groups and have them manufacture a book themselves. Then the groups could share their book. Great activity to repeat several times a year. It is so important to give special needs children an opportunity to feel they have been successful in creating something memorable.
Good idea, Carl! Yes, you are right about that. Thanks for stopping by. 😊
Wonderful cause Janice! Have shared on Twitter and Facebook 🙂
Thank you, Sherri! 😊
